I have been experiencing some pain and lots of pressure. The sharp pain usually lasts about couple seconds and comes every hour. Are these contractions? will i be going into labor soon. Im starting my 39th week

if it only lasts a couple seconds I would doubt it is a contraction. Contractions last for 30-60 seconds. When they become regular enough that you are getting them every 5 minutes for over an hour, and drinking water, moving around or laying down on your left side doesn't make them go away, you may very well be in labor.

if your starting your 39th week i wouldn't try to stop them by laying on your left side. just watch them for an hour if they are every 5 minutes then go to the hospital more then likely you are in labor. good luck. my due date was yesterday and i'm having nothing yet lol
