i recommend castor oil if your body is ready. i took it a 39wks5days and i was 2cm dialted and 80 effaced. with an hour i had mild diarrha and had my daughter 7 hours later and it is my firest baby. so i recommend it if u know your body is ready.

I've heard it can work very well but can also give you bad diarhea. I am 4 days late and have considered it myself. I took 1 tsp the other day and did have quite a bit of false labor that evening so I can imagine what a few tsp or tbsp would do. I did a google search the other day and there was quite a bit of information on castor oil. I would only try it if you are overdue, not at 36 weeks, you aren't full term till 38 weeks. Hope this helps.

amanda - October 24

Well I tried it and it didn`t work I had lots of cramping throughout the night but no baby so far Im getting so impatient and uncomfortable I am now 40 weeks and with my first I delivered when I was 38 weeks and never used nothing I am just tired of being pregnant

to all who say that 36 weeks isn't consider full-term. Well tell you how much you know because 36 weeks is consider full term. Not to say it's a great ideal to take the CO at 36 wks, but i didn't and i took it this past Saturday had the baby Monday morning at 4am and just made it home about an hr ago. Everything went fine, the baby ok me ok and were feeling vey happy i must say. But good luck to all who's brave enought to try it.

Term is 37 weeks, not 36.

Joanne i want you to know that the castro oil really works. Again i wouldn't consider you to take it if your having doubts. We are all different and what may work 4 me may not work 4 you but it did work 4 me.

Brandy - November 7

I'm 38 weeks and 2 cm and 85% and the doctor won't induce me until I'm 3 cm or 40 weeks, but I don't want to wait. I've already tried castor oil once but I wan't as far along, and I didn't take that much. I just took 2 oz now so I'll see what happens. I'll keep you guys informed of what happens.
