Hey Crystal, try squatting when your having a contraction or try pushing a tiny bit while having one. if you need someone to talk to email me at: saktaw12@msn.com. Good luck!!

I cant believe they would let you go so long without doing anything. I'll say a prayer for you that it happens soon. I tried several things with both my pregnancies and the only thing that worked was s_x. Though it doesnt sound like your in the mood. I would have to dissagree with the first post though. WHile squatting may help to get the baby into better position i would not encourage anyone to do any pushing untill you are fully dialated and effaced. I have been an EMT (emergency medical technician) for almost 10 years now. We are trained to delver babies in emergency situations and in that training we are taught NO pushing untill you are completely ready. I know she said tiny but....but whos to judge what a tiny bit is. I wont go into the horror stories but trust me ...there can be serious concequences to you and your baby.

I agree with squatting. Try not to move during your contractions- relax as much as possible during a contraction. Your body knows what to do, if you feel the urge to push- try a little...I have also heard sitting on the toilet may help. Remember to be drinking some fluids like gatorade to keep your energy up.

thanks for everything well now its been over 82 hours and now i am a full 3 cm dilated and a good 90% effaced and my contractions are every 3 to 4 min and my doctor still thinks its false labor but there is no way.... my contractions still havent stopped... i have tried everything so i am hoping someting will happen here within the next couple of hours...my mother in law is a labor and delivery nurse and she thinks my doctor is stupid and once i am a good 4cm we are going to the hospitall.....keeps your fingers crossed thanks

OMG, Crystal I feel for you!!! You're Dr is an -- let's just say being a total jerk! Have you tried the ma__saging/pressure shower head on your belly techniqe? A wonderful L&D nurse at the hospital told me that she has seen a great deal of success with this technique. She told me that she has sent ladies in to the shower at 2cm-3cm instructed them to just sit & daydream drift off to a very special time & place in their happiest memories all while moving the showerhead in a circular motion over their bellies---these same ladies would come out of the shower, much more comfortable & now 7, 8 even 10cms dilated... doesn't that sound wonderful?!? I can't help but wonder that if the hospital won't allow you to stay to try this shower technique maybe you try lying down in the tub at home, focus on that happy relaxing place & time & allow the shower to spray down over your belly while you use your hand to circular ma__sage your belly. I hope & pray that this is over for you soon Crystal! All the best

That doctor is not worth his medical degree. Go to the hospital, request a different doctor, tell them you are not progressing on your own. You need an induction/and or your water broken. Doesn't this doctor know that the vast majority of women do not break their waters on their own?? I'm sorry I'm getting so upset but for this doc to not help you along after 58 hours is c___p. What if you aren't progressing because you need a c-section? Please crystal, get another doctor NOW!!!!

I agree with Maggie completely!!! I read just recently that only about 15% of pregnancies result in spontaneous water breaking. I know that I am one of the 85%er's who had to have my water broke for me, every pregnancy. Crystal I hope that by now you're baby has come & your suffering is over!
