Naturally Inducing Labour

ok.... I posted on Nov 16th and soon after that I decided (after reading all of the horror stories) that I wasn't going to try and induce myself. Well yesterday I went to the doctor and he said that the baby, by feeling my belly, was already in the 9 pound range! So right now I am eating a pineapple. After that I am going to put a hot rice buddy on my nipples and rub my feet. I told my man to bring me some evening primrose oil on the way home from work and we'll see where it goes from there. I have been having bracton hicks all week stronger and stronger and I told the doctor that I don't want this baby to get any bigger than it already is. I had a 9 pound baby before and I almost pa__sed out. If they gain an ounce a day from now on in, I'm in trouble. I WILL let you all know how I do.

i am due between dec 14-21. I'm really hoping that I have this baby a lot sooner than that. I really starting to get uncomfortable and want to have my baby girl here already. I'm really scared to try the home remedies and hope that i can ask the dr to strip my membranes. are dr's against doing this or will the do it?

Hi....I'm due Dec 11th and just read all of the Q&A on this page..lots of info to absorb. I'm almost 39 weeks and I'm going to try the EPO, Fennel, cinnamon, c_min and ginger tea (combine all in pot and boil). Also after seeing my Dr on Thursday I'll see if I've effaced or thinned any. Been having Braxs and menstrual like cramps for a week now and some pretty nasty Edema as well. Baby's still very active at this point, putting a lot of pressure on my pelvic bones, but I'm getting a little frustrated with the discomfort.

I am due in about 2 weeks and also have been told that the baby will large..I started taking Primrose Oil tablets a week ago, they give me heartburn :) ...I have been taking two 500mg tabs a day...and will take 3 a day for the next week...I think that I will try the Castor oil once the EPO are gone. I will keep you all posted.

I tried evening primrose oil at 38 weeks and when I was 39 weeks pregnant started to take homeopathy (caulofolum) and went into labour 2 days later..it worked for me.

I am sharing all your pain, I will be 41 weeks on Tuesday, and I have an induction date set, but I would like to get her out sooner, and naturally; no contractions, and I'm dialated to 2 cm. I am tired of looking for ways to get her out so I have stopped. The doc had to put me on anti depressant pills because I am so miserable. (which I've never taken before). Anyway, just thought I might say I'm glad I'm not alone.

Hi everyone. I posted on the 16th and the 29th I think. I am now 3 days over due. My opinion on the inducing is that it works for some but not all. I tried everything I think and I am still here. I had my ultrasound and the baby is not too big after all so tuesday the 13th is the day. I think I will try the evening primrose oil again tonight after our Christmas party dinner because even if it doesn't work, it makes you happy and dulls the crampiness. (It is used for depression) I think that if I would have taken more castor oil than I had, I would have had the baby by now but I would have been really sick to my stomach. With what I took, I didn't puke but I almost did. I am content on waiting till tuesday. I'm just thinking of this as the last time I will ever be pregnant even though I hated it I will try to enjoy the last few days of it.

DO NOT TAKE CASTROL OIL! I took it with my son who is now 8 years old, I experienced the most painful, drawn out long labor ever....I was vomiting while giving birth and the pains were unreal, it was not a contraction they were brought on due to the castrol oil.....if you want your baby out, just ask your doctor, sometimes they feel your pain and will induce you a little early, remeber a bay is full term at 37 weeks, be patient and plase do not take and more castrol oil!

Please make sure you know the difference between castOR oil and castROL oil. Castrol oil is a brand of motor oil and under no circ_mstances should be consumed!

nikki - December 21

im 37 wks and 3 days now, i want my daughter to come now, i cant wait to have her, they are inducing my labor when im 39wks, but i heard it is worse being medically induced so iv been trying some natural inducing methods, like castor oil and that definently DID NOT work other then making me nausias and on the toilet for 2 days. so i started walking, i also walked the 7-falls stairs and im dialating now, that is working so far, oh and s_x , and nipple stimulation are also other things i heard works.
