Stupid Question About Dilation And Labor

Im 2cm and 100% but I haven't felt a single bh contraction and I dont have anything I would call pain. Maybe slight cramping but not even as bad as most of my period cramping ever was. I know you can walk around for a long time dilated and such but I was wondering if it will more than likely be longer since I havent felt any type of contraction or anything. I know its probably a dumb question because nobody really knows for sure but I was wondering how common it is to go into labor without feeling a thing beforehand. Thanks for any input.

Actually because you are already dilated and soft, your actual labor should go quicker. I don't know how common it is, but I myself am 3cm dilated with only slight BH contractions....and I've been dilating since week 29...and here I am at 35w5d. So even though this stage of labor has gone on for a while with me...actual labor should go pretty quickly. The longest stage of labor is getting from 0-4 cm, and usually you don't dilate until you start having real contractions. Sometimes labor can last longer if this is your first, so keep that in mind...also, everybody's is different, so you can't gauge yours with someone else's. Good luck with everything!

Its possible hon with my first son I felt nothing I was home and my feet felt weird kinda like when they fall asleep. So I decieded to go to the hospital when I got there and got checked I was 7cm dilated the reason why I was not feeling anything was because my water had not brake. When they broke my water I was in the worst pain ever.
