Hi. How do you know when your water breaks? Is it a big gush running out ( so obvious that you cant miss it? ) or is it more subtle? I am only 18 weeks, but sometimes I feel like I have a lot of watery fluid come out in the mornings....is this normal? thank you and good luck to each of you.

My water did not "break". It leaked. I wasn't quite sure if that is what it was so I didn't go to the hospital. It will also have a different odor.

You will have increased discharge when pregnant. Unless you are filling a large pad during the day, there is probably nothing to be worried about. A friend of mine, in her 2nd pregnancy, went at 38 weeks to her OB and told them her water broke. They checked her, as the baghad a small hole hole in it, but it appeared the bag was intact - so they told her she had wet her pants. She was so irritated, calling me and telling me that she knew the difference between urine and amniotic fluid. In 5 days, the leaking stopped. We are talking about 210-15 oz through out the day.

it can gush or leak slowly. You are probably just noticing regular mucus discharge.

late, any tips on jumpstarting the process, I've tried walking, drinking tea, pressure points, and s_x everyday twice some times three times a day sure isn't doing anything. Help anyone.
