Well, I would not stress just yet. Who knows, your cycle may not be what you thought. It all could be off. This happens. At least you are progressing as far as your HCG levels. I do know that not everybodies levels rise in the same fashion. I would only be concerned if you begin spotting and/or have severe abdominal cramping, As I have experienced two miscarriages. THE FIRST DAY OF MY LAST PERIOD WAS 15TH JAN. I HAD SLIGHT BLEEDING LAST WEEK WHICH MADE ME 7 WEEKS PREGNANT AND WENT FOR AN ULTRASOUND. WHEN I WENT FOR THE ULTRASOUND THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO HEARTBEAT HE TOLD ME TO GO BACK IN A WEEK FOR A REPEAT ULTRASOUND SO I WENT BACK THIS MORNING AND THEY COULDNT FIND A HEARTBEAT AGAIN BUT THEY COULD SEE A SHADOW OF THE BABY. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT IT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE I WAS 8 WEEKS PREGNANT THAT I LOOKS LIKE I AM LESS BUT I KNOW MY DATES ARE RIGHT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK I AM SO WORRIED THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO BLEEDING SINCE LAST WEEK OR NO CRAMPS OR ANYTHING. THEY JUST TOLD ME TO GO BACK NEXT WEEK FOR A REPEAT ULTRASOUND NOW ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT. PLEASE GOD EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT.

Catherine, Our dates are very similar. I am 8 weeks 2 days and my ultrasound today showed no heartbeat, irregular and small sac (not round). Another ultrasound is in 2 weeks, but chances are slight they say. Baby not developing as it should.

i was told i was about 8 wks pregnant,but after going to get an us today i was told at the most if at all i am 4 wks.i took a preg test 2 weeks ago and it came out poss.if im only 4 wks today i wouldnt have gotten a poss.result 2 wks ago would i have.anyone been through the same.or can anyone help

I have had the same problems u ladies have had. The sac is small and my HCG levels are not dubbling. What I want to know is...has anyone had this problem, but then the pregnancy was successful?

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I was 5 weeks pregnant going by the size of my uterus and there was a sac and a yolk sac but no fetal heartbeat was seen or heard. they drew blood and my hcg came back and it was 9000+ we draw blood again thursday has anyone ever had this happen and come to fing out there was a baby later on down the line? please help very scared

I went to my obgyn and when they went to listen to the heart beat there was none, they did and ultra sound and you could see the egg sack and somthing else but no heart beat but in my case the HCG levels are still increaseing. I was told to come back in 1 week to see if they could find a heart beat. I should be 11weeks along but by there measurements they are saying 8 weeks. I had had to previous ultrasounds and they both showed a heart beat.. The Dr. told me if the fetus died that my body would absorb everything and I should start having some bleeding so far nothing. they also said if my HCG levels continue to rise and they still get no heart beat they will then do a D&C. I still have morning sickness and tenter b___st. I go to the Dr next Thursday I will keep you updated.

Please don't insist on that until you are absolutely sure there is no chance your baby isn't alive. All babies grow on a different timetable and yours might be a bit slower and smaller than the average woman. I'm in the same spot. It sounds like we are very close with our dates as well. I'm waiting for yet another ultrasound next week. It's so difficult, but I can't bear the thought of sc___ping our baby out when it's not been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not a viable pregnancy. I really hope this miracle of life pulls through for both us, but the Lord doesn't make any mistakes, and I can find peace resting in Him.

I am so grateful to have found this thread, just to know I'm not alone. I am, by my dates, 9 w + 5 d. U/s on 20 April showed two embryos, but their sizes were closer to 5 and 6 w. No heartbeats. Next scan on the 28th. I still have tender b___sts, a little nausea, and the spotting that led to the scan last week is now minimal. Nothing left to do but WAIT and it's just horrible. If anyone has success stories, please share them!

I went to my OBGYN today and had a second US. It states that I am 5w 5d there is a sac but no embryo. I was given the option to wait for a miscarriage that would be inevitable or have the D&C done. I was so distraught that all I could do was cry. I couldn't even bring myself to ask any questions. I an 32 and I was on clomed for one cycle and became pregnant the very first attempt. Also they found two cyst on my ovaries and that my ovaries are still stimulated from the medication. My heart and soul tells me to wait and let nature take it's course whether good or bad. And my brain is telling me to have the D&C and bring closure to this heartbreaking episode. Please help, has anyone had a positive outcome from anything like this?

i'm 6weeks and they said my hcg levels were high and that their sould be a heartbeat, but when i went to the dr.office there ws no heartbeat why is that

If your doctor is not to concerned with it then I would not worry to much. I know easier said then done. I am 8w5d pregnant with twins and went in for a sono and both babies are measuring what they are supposed to but we only saw one heartbeat. they baby without one is growing and gettign bigger, I go back in on tuesday for another sono to see if he has a heartbeat. i am so surprised to see that so many people are going through the same thing that i am. I have my D&C tommorrow and i've a little scared...wondering if anyone has had one here and how they feel afterwards?

Hi Katie - I had a D&C 2 months ago, going through the same thing, I waited for about 2 weeks after not miscarrying naturally - it was a simple 15 minute procudure - I had a lot of bleeding the first day - then had minimal bleeding for about 10 days. I felt good and only needed 1 pain pill. It is scary and you go through every feeling of, should I have waited longer to see if it occured naturally ... etc.. just put the trust in your dr. that this is the right decision and that God has a plan, although it may have not been your plan.
