MWAT thank you again for the information you have given me. It is very useful. I want to able to know what is out there and how it is used so I won't be so lost. If makes me feel a lot better knowing that I have options or at least I am able to discuss this with my doctor and not be totally clueless. My ? is did they stop all the patches & shots once you reach a certain point in your pregnancy. I know from others that I read some stop taking the meds either anywhere form 12-16 week. And is there any further testing like bloodwork. In your entry for 05/01/5 you said you had your u/s did you find out what you are having?. I pray everything is well. Once again thank you so much. Good luck and God bless.

Hi Rosa! I am happy to hear from you again. I was worried about you. I am a teacher, so worrying comes natural to me. When I began the IVF procedure I was given a calendar of dates to begin and to end each particular medication. I was 10 wks. when I stopped the Viella Dot patches (estrogen) and 12 wks when I was able to stop the Progesterone oil injections. the other medication was stopped right after my procedure. It was weird after I stopped the injections...my husband and I planned our life around it. He gave me the injections around the same time every day. Anyway...The inst_tutes that I was dealing with were in VA (where I had the procedure done) and Pittsburgh (where I live.) The Pgh. inst_tute did all of my blood work and u/s. I had blood work done 3 different times after the procedure (not counting the NUMEROUS times before the procedure) Every time my levels rose. However when I had the bleeding they immediately put me on the injections to prevent a mc. My levels, I a__sume were fine, but I never asked. It was just one of those things that I never questioned. The blood was from an empty sac and a blood clot near the live baby. My most recent u/s was at 10 wks, toooooo soon to see the s_x of the baby. I have another dr. apt. coming up next Tuesday 5/17 (I am hoping to hear the heart beat again) With so much that went wrong, I am always worried. I also have a apt. with a specialist because I have a genetic disorder (my reason for going with the IVF procedure using a donor egg) on 5/27. They will do the u/s. However, I really am leaning against wanting to know the s_x of the baby. My husband and I have a lot of presents from people, but I said that I am not opening them until my due date nears. I just do not want to jinks anything. You have seriously been in my prayers nightly. I know God hears all prayers, but never question ones that seam "unanswered" Everything that has happened to me because of my genetic disorder I have never questioned. I hope all is well with you and please keep in touch.

MWAT-Wow-it sure sounds like you have been through alot to keep your baby. I wanted to wish you good luck. I think it was a very wonderful thing that you did-using a donor egg. I am sure that was a tough decision to make, very unselfish and as I have been reading the posts, I have added your name to my prayer list at night. I wanted to suggest something that you may want to do during this pregnancy. I have gone through two misscarriages and two tough pregnancys and am now pregnant with my third-5 months. I have been hospitalized two times already for pre-term labor and am also on a whole bunch of hormones. Anyways because of all the worrying, I rented a fetal doppler through my baby talk magazine. It only costs $25 a month and I have been able to hear the heartbeat since I was 9 weeks pregnant. It is sucha comfort, when I start having contractions or I start spotting, to be able to grab my fetal monitor anytime and listen to the heartbeat. At the very least I know baby is still there and knowing what her heart rate is supposed to be, I can tell wether she is in distress or not. Anyways, I just thought I would reccomend this- know how it is, as most of us on this board, to wonder if your pregnancy will last another day. Good luck to everyone and keep hope.

I just picked up my prescription and almost was not going to use it until I started reading this website.

If my levels ever got lower than 12, they put my on prometrium (progesterone). If they are lower than 12, there's a risk for miscarriage. If you need to talk, email me at jmcfar03@hotmail.com, I'd love to help w/information given to me from my doctor over the past few years. Janet

MWAT-you can check out the fetal dopplers at bellybeats.com and rent either a regular doppler which is what I got for $25 a month or the digital doppler( I think it is $30) The only difference is the digital shows the baby's heart rate for you. Hope this helps-I sure love mine and I love your att_tude!! Rachelle-I wanted to tell you how happy I am for you. Keep the prayers up and enjoy being able to see your little one and very soon-hear it! I also had a friend who had PCOS and she now has a healthy 3 year old. She also went through a very tough time getting pregnant or maintaining one but it finally happened and I am glad you finally get to experience it as well. Good Luck!

Did you put you any progesterone suppliments? How many weeks are you? I know this is hard to hear but try not to worry to much about it. Take it easy let you man or partner spoil you.

Nichole - May 12

Just curious if it is safe to take prometriumpill form during pregnancy and keep a healthy pregnancy. The labels say not to take if in early pregnancy or had incomplete miscarriage. I am 6 wks pregnant and having spotting, bleeding and brown dishcarge and my dr prescribed prometrium. Just really scared to take d/t label warnings.

I had wrote in here in April. I was on progesterone and started spotting. I lost the baby on 5-2-05. I am going to start trying again in 2 cycles. I am looking for help. I want to know if there is anything I can do to help to prevent having to go on progesterone for my next pregnancy. I have been trying for 31/2 years and seeing a specialist for 2 of those year. We ended up getting pregnant on our own. Now we will not be going to the specialist I want to do everything in my power to have a healthy and full term pregnancy. Any information will be a great help to us. Thank you all for being here you have been a great help to us. God bless you all.

Dawn, What finally worked for me was cutting out the high-carb foods. Also healthy living, now I am sure to shop at the whole foods store. What you eat is so important, it is what your body runs on and what your child uses for nourishment.

Rachel - May 12

Does the progesterone make anybody else not able to eat? I take one bite of food and feel like I could run over to the toilet! Not fun!

Becky - May 12

Dawn- I am so sorry you lost your pregnancy. How are you feeling. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. I personally don't have any answers for you regarding your progesterone level. The only thing I would suggest is that you trust in your doctor to know what is best for you. Even if this means taking progesterone again. Have they established that this is the reason you are losing your pregnancy's? Maybe your progesterone level is low due to some other underlying problem. Have they tested your thyroid level. If this is low then all the other hormones in your body are going to be messed up so maybe it is something like that. Anyways, keep being adamant about your care. Keep pushing for them to find out what is wrong. If they already know what is wrong then just trust that they are specialy trained to help you. Take care and I will say a prayer for you.

Becky - May 13

Nichole-I am taking the pill form of progesterone called prometrium. The bottle, just like any other medication, states to not take during early pregnancy but that is only if you have not consulted with your doctor. You have to believe that your doctor knows best. I have been taking it since ovulation and am now 22 weeks. I took this same medication the same way for my other two succesful pregnancies and I have a healthy 6 and 3 year old. The two pregnancies I lost were ones that I didn't take the prometrium on so you see-The Doctor knew best! Hope this helps. Racheal-I get really sick on the progesterone too. I don't have that much of an appet_te because of it but my doctor says baby is growing fine so I try not to worry. I just can't stand the nausea!

Rosa - May 13

Hi MWAT- How are you doing? Sorry didn't mean to worry you but I have been having kind of a hard week. My emotions have been getting the best of me, plus with work it's been hard as well. I have been so tired that I have not been able to check the site. I read that you will be having your u/s on 05-17-05 I'm so excited for you. I hope and pray everything goes well. I understand about you not wanting to know the s_x of the baby. It makes it that much more exciting when the baby is born. And we share the same feelings about not wanting to open gifts before the baby is born. I actually didn't want any gifts until the kids were born. I didn't want to jinks my pregnancy either. I also agree with Becky regarding the fetal doppler. I think it would give you some kind of peace of mind. They sell them in places like target and toys-r-us and they do have different prices. They sell them also in baby magazines or if you want to see them go to the target or toys-r-us web sites for babies they might have pictures. Just make sure to read all of the instructions before using. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on tuesday. Again thank you for the info you gave me it makes more sense to me when I look it up on the websites. I have a better understanding of the use of the meds. Once again, thank u sooooo much. I will have you and your family in my prayers always. Good Luck and God Bless. Please Let me know how everything goes on tuesday :.)

MWAT - May 16

Hi Rosa...I have my u/s on the 27th, but my reg. check up tomorrow (17th). I am hoping that we can hear a good heart beat again. However a little extra because I am a Special Education teacher. On top of that my husband and I are house hunting. I will let you know tomorrow how everything goes. Thanks for your prayers and kind wishes. You are also in my prayers...God bless!
