Hi everyone... Well, I went to the ER saturday after waking up with a little spotting. It stopped, but I started to have pain in my pelvis, so I got scared and went to the hospital. I was 11 weeks 5 days at that point. They drew blood to check levels(all good), and ordered an u/s. They told me I had a "small hemmorage"...what is a SMALL hemmorage?--That's a big scary word IMO. Anyways, the lovely ER docs sent me on my way with a 50-50 chance of "threatened m/c". THAT is what the ER doc told me. I was wigging out! Anyways, I already had an appointment scheduled with Maternal Fetal Medicine for monday morning for the 1st trimester screen( I am 36), so I was happy I already had that appointment set up...In the meantime, I had called and left a message for my regular doctor, explaining what was going on, and it's wednsday, and they never did call me back! Ok, so monday I saw the specialist. I had had no spotting on sunday, but it started again that morning. They were very sweet and put me at ease. They did not see the hematoma on their u/s, but had just ordered my records from the ER. The doc said not to worry, it was fairly common, and given my OB history, didn't see a reason to do a work-up. Baby's hb was good, my bloodwork's good...Still, he didn't give me the #'s I've read here--I will take 90% chance of going to term over the 50% they gave me at the ER. Oh, and I'm Rh Negative, and they "forgot" to give me Rhogam in the ER! The specialist couldn't believe that, gave me the shot monday, and they're going to check for antibodies, but they feel I should be OK--I just had a baby (she's 4 1/2 months), so I had Rhogam then, and had no antibodies in Feb at my initial OB appt. Anyways....I have had spotting every morning, and it's always stressful! I will not feel rea__sured until it stops! But finding this thread was a lifesaver....

Hi SherryMichael-welcome--I think a lot of doctors quote the 50% number because that applies to any and all reasons for bleeding. However, if you can specify the reason for the bleeding then the numbers change as with subchorionic bleeds. At any rate there are so many positive stories here to help keep you positive! On another note, I had my 12week u/s yesterday and saw the baby again---wow he's gotten bigger in the two weeks since my last u/s. I could clearly see the brain, the jaws, fingers toes legs arms the pulsing umbilical chord! WOW. And, the bleed is now only 4cm by .7 cm by .4 cm. So it is almost gone! My doc has officially told me that she is no longer concerned at all by the bleed and that as long as nothing else happens, I'm considered "normal" now. Anyway, good luck to all--hope you are all well!

hi had my scan and dont have to worry about the bleeding cause im only 10 weeks i had to have an internal scan uncomfortable but ok it was a bit of a shock and the reason for dodgy periods was because i was nt ovulating but i ovulated in jan baby is fine no problems so thats a releive ive got to do a 24hr urine test soon cause bp was 173/90 doc seems to think it may be white coat hypertension but wants to rule out kidney problems first

Hi girls... It sounds like a few of us are due around the same time...I'm due 9-25. The nurse from the specialist office called me wednsday--she'd gotten the u/s report from the hospital, and my bloodwork back(screening for antibodies since they "forgot" to give me Rhogam in the ER). Well, I was negative for antibodies, so it doesn't look like I'll be suing the hospital, LOL. It's not really funny, is it? They always say you really have to be on your toes in the ER, b/c of their rate of error. Anyways, the nurse did say the tech from the hospital had sited a "slight" subchorionic bleed...She read it to me, and answered any questions I had. I'm still spotting, and wish it would resolve itself already! She said if it continues, follow up with my regular doctor. The spotting's still pink, and she said they like brown. Well, I would like brown, too! Overall, they don't seem very concerned, but this doesn't prevent me from feeling like I'm going to have a panic-attack each and every day! And I know stress isn't any good, but how much can that really be helped? I only do what I have to, which is primarily taking care of dd, who, at almost 5 months, is beginning to get pretty mobile. Denise, Nat?--did your docs put you on bed rest, or just tell you to "take it easy"?

Nat - March 17

Hi SherryMicheal, my doc put me on bedrest for a week after I had bright red bleeding (it only lasted an hour) and then let me go back to work but with no working out, lifting or strenous anything. I do feel like the bedrest helped back then with the bleeding and I feel like resting in general can ease stress--I feel it helped me. That said, it's also been good to get back on my feet and finally be told I can exercise again! Nat

Becky - March 17

Hi everybody...Just wanted everybody to remember that I had the worst of all bleeds and Now I have hit the 26week stage...officially 10weeks after my bleed, my baby is still going strong...Hang in there stay on bedrest and enjoy your guys little bundle of joys...My little man has been moving so much...I had a scan today and the bleed is still there but the baby is so chubby now...Stay in good spirits I know you guys can do it..

Sheree - March 18

I can't stress enough, I am so with you Beckey - high spirits help hey. I too like Beckey had terribly bleeds and clotting and I haven't bled for 16 weeks now and am 30 weeks pregnant and this little one sooooo wants to meet us. We have good stories, try to draw off them, we are here to help in any way we can. Rest heaps that helped me and my bubs so much. Take care and gl.

Denise - March 18

Hi Sherry Micheal, sorry it took me so long to get back to you.But yes my doctor did put me on bed rest and I believe it helped.I really can't do to much now.My doctor wants me to take it easy and relax but when you have a 7yr old and a 5 yr old it's pretty hard to relax. But I try the best way I can.Staying positive and stress free is the best way to go.I think it's really hard to stay stress free but it's worth it for the baby.I hope all is well and it's nice to know i'm not the only person with a due date that seems so far away lol.Take care everybody.

Sheree - March 18

Glad all is going well for you Denise. So many good stories out of this.

Denise - March 18

Hi Sheree,I wanted you to know that i'm so happy for you and that everything is going well for you and the baby.So how do you feel knowing that the big day is almost here?Did you do any shopping yet?

Sheree - March 18

Denise I still have to pinch myself. Can't believe how many good stories come out of something that seems so severe. I don't get considerably bigger either, so I guess I always wonder, but I feel the little one wriggling and hiccuping so that has to be enough rea__surance. 10 weeks to go and gyno says everything is great, so i just have to trust him on that one. Guess being your first and having lost 2 cherubs already, it is hard to know what I should be expecting. But all is well on our front and not long to go now yipee..... Yes we have partially set up bubs room, get the cot tomorrow so can't wait to set it up completley. Hope you are well.

Tammy - March 18

Hi yall, I am due sept 29 with baby#10. I have been bleeding slighly since week 6, 4 weeks now. I had a couple of times where it was bright red on the toilet paper, if that doesn't scare you, nothing will. US showed healthy baby but no reason for bleeding. Has anyone had the US show nothing but then later on find subchorionic bleeding?
