I was on Microgestin birth control for 2 years, and I was taking it so that I only got my period every 3 months. I was recently on the end of my third pack, and was supposed to get my period. My period never came, so my boyfriend and I continued to have s_x for that whole week that I was supposed to have my period. When that pack finally ran out, I had to order a pack of a different kind of birth control (forget what kind it was, already threw it away). I took two home pregnancy tests when I had just started the different pack just to be sure. They both said negative. After the first week of the different pack was over, I started to lightly spot a dark brown discharge/blood. Sometimes it would be completely brown, sometimes it would be mixed in a clear liquid/discharge. This continued for the last two weeks (Maybe a little less than 2 weeks) of my different birth control. I took another home pregnancy test a week before the brown spotting stopped. It also said negative. Some websites I researched said that home pregnancy tests will still be just as accurate during implantation bleeding, while others said that it would not be accurate. Could I possibly be pregnant? OR could the brown spotting just be from switching my birth control?

I think the brown spotting was the left over old blood that did not come down at the expected time. If you have gotten pregnant in the last month, it is probably too early to test. I take it you are expecting a period soon after a month on the new type bc. If the expected period is more than a week late, run another test to double check. GL!
