Is it safe to use a small vibrater when you are 31 weeks pregnent?

I am 38 weeks preg and I use a vibrator every so often, b/c my s_x drive is through the roof...(poor hubby can't keep up with me... he works alot).

i used one last night and afterwards my uterus conrtacted into a tight ball. i got a real fright. there was no pain and i used it externally. was this braxton hicks? is the vibration bad for the baby?
