I was just recently on the pill and stopped- i was off the pill for two days and my husband and i had unprotected s_x. Usually on the pill i am not due to have a period until the first week of april - it is now march 20th . my husband and i had s_x on the 16th and 17th so it had been a total of 3 days of me having stopped the pill. starting yesterday i started having some light spotting dark brown blood. is this my period restarting since i stopped the pill and my cycle could have been thrown off or implantation bleeding? isn't implantation bleeding too early at this time]?

It is probably just break through bleeding since you have stopped the pill. If you don't get your period take a test. Good luck!

Thanks, I am just a little confused since I have read that the first couple of days of stopping the pill could be when you are most vulnerable to getting pregnant. I have been spotting for 4 days now and its just brown spotting it has not increased in amount or decreased - I have also read that implantation bleeding can last for up to 5 days depending on the woman- don't want to get my hopes up but also would like to know if there could be a possibility that i could be pregnant.
Since I did stop the pill would my period be thrown off? i usually expect it on the first of the month.

Some women find their cycle gets thrown off completely, others just have a period of spotting. Things should settle into a normal routine within a month or 3. As for being more fertile right after stopping the pill, most women find they cannot conceive for the first 2-3 cycles after stopping, while some get pregnant right away. Your body needs time to start ovulating before you can get pregnant.
Don't lose hope if you find you aren't pregnant in 4 months. Just keep timing it and trying again. Many couples have to try for several months before their time comes.
It is POSSIBLE you are pregnant, but don't get your hopes up just yet. Patience is your best friend right now.

thank you for your responses. I am still spotting it has been 7 days now- took a test which was negative but may have still been too early possibly since it was only 9 days after intercourse. I guess i am really impatient. the spotting also has me worried since it has been 7 days already and i am guessing that it is because my cycle has been thrown off. i keep having heartburn with esophageal reflux in the a.m and keep hoping that is a sign but then again it could not be.
