Want Another

I feel somewhat guilty posting here, as I already have two wonderful kids (4.5 and 2.5). I know many here are desperate to have their first, and I feel for you. That said, I long for another baby. I can't explain it -- I just feel in my heart that I'm meant to have one more. My husband gives me a list of reasons why he's against it -- it's expensive, we have two healthy kids, we're getting older (I'm 39), I have some health issues that could complicate things, etc. Also, his parents both died a few years ago, in their 60's, and he has a lot of cancer in his family, so he's afraid that he'll die when the kids are little. Also, he confesses that, although he feels selfish, he's really looking forward to having some down time when my youngest starts school in the fall. He's a stay at home dad, so I feel like I should give him veto power, but I just ache for one more baby! Last year I had a brain tumor and almost died from the surgery. But it was a strangely life affirming experience, and I feel like I am destined to have one more child. I can't stop thinking about it. What do I do??? Thanks everyone, and I wish you all the blessings of a child, if that is what you want.

I understand your feelings. I however have four kids. We had two and then 5 years later decided we wanted another. Then I somehow convinced my husband to have a forth since the youngest was so far in age from the other two. I felt I would be totally satisfied for sure but now I feel sad that I am done. My husband would die if I fell PG again. I think some women almost get addisted to the whole thing. I am not saying at all that is your issue but I am beginning to think it is mine. Good Luck with your convincing.

tryin44, I can see what you mean with 'being addicted to the whole thing'. I sort of feel that way. I loved being pregnant. I love having our own little one. I love thinking about doing it all over again! With drugs and alcohol and everything else under the sun that people get addicted to, wanting happy healthy pregnancies and kids is far from the worst thing!
