Pregnancy Or Post HCG Injection Symptoms

Hello -- would really appreciate any insights: 1st day of last period was 8/26. Did Clomid and Follistim injections, followed by HCG trigger shot then IUI on 9/7 and 9/8. My br___ts, specifically my nipples and under them hurt and are tender. Also noticed than I am peeing more and am more tired than usual. I read on this site that the HCG shot can remain in your system for up to 10 days. Could this be causing these symptons or is it possible that the IUI worked and I am pregnant?

Not trying to be funny, but what are these meds and how much do they cost, do they stop miscarriages? I wish I could help

the clomid and follistim combination helped me to produce more follicles/eggs. the hcg induced ovulation for the interuterin insemination (iui) to take place. as for costs, that depends on your health insurance coverage. i don't know that anything can stop a miscarriage -- but don't trust me -- ask a obgyn or re about that. lots of luck to you!

You definitely have good symptoms. Most of them are caused by progesterone. My guess is that the hCG could cause you to have a false positive pregnancy test, but not false positive symptoms. I think you are pregnant. Come back on this thread and let us know for future reference. Thanks, and God bless!

Viv: Thank you! I will absolutely come back and let you know if I am in fact pregnant. I so hope you're right in your projection. I have an appointment with my RE tomorrow morning for a blood/progesterone test. Any chance that this same blood test could also reveal a + pregnancy??? Let me know. Again, I'll be sure to do the same. Thank you for your optimism and blessings. I wish the same to/for you.

Viv: You were so helpful answering my 1st question, I was hoping to hear your thoughts on this: Had progesterone blood test this morning at my RE's office. The result: my progesterone is "27". My RE told me this is good/normal. What I'm wondering now is if this number reveals any increased chances that I could be pregnant or not? My next appointment is one week from today for a pregnancy test, which would be day 28 of my cycle. Do you know of any early tests that I can do prior to then? Or must I be an adult and just be patient? Thanks for your help!

Be patient. First Response claims to detect 4 days prior to a missed period, but there are lots of false negatives. I am learning to be wary of having opinions when people have been on drug regimes. Good luck text week!

Thanks again, Viv. I understand your hesitency in voicing (or texting) your opinion this early in my cycle. I will be patient until next week. I think I will wait for the preg. test at my RE's next week vs. trying a at home test. I can't bear to see another negative. Thanks for the well wishes and your help.
