TIPS TO GET PREGNANT

If you and your partner are planning to start trying for a baby in the near future then there are steps you can take to help Mother Nature along the way. Perhaps you have already started trying and are depressed because you have not had any success so far.

By following these 6 conception tips, you can increase the chances of conceiving. But take note, if you are under the age of 30 and are not pregnant after a year, you may wish to consult a doctor. Similarly, if you are over the age of 35 and have not conceived within 6 months, it's time to make that appointment to see what else could be going on.

6 Tips For Conception

Here are a few simple tips that can help Mother Nature along so that you have a better chance of conceiving;

Tip #1. Have Lots of Sex

The best way to get pregnant as quickly as possible is to have sex frequently. That may seem oversimplified, but it's a fact. Often, couples are consumed with timing everything toward ovulation and end up not having sex when they think they are not ovulating. Even though it is true that ovulation and sex combine to produce a pregnancy, there's also the possibility that a woman may not ovulate when she thinks she will. So, having sex three times a week is not only good for your relationship, it also increases the chances of conception.

Tip #2. Use an Ovulation Predictor Kit

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to figure out when you're ovulating is to use an ovulation predictor kit, or an opk. Often methods of charting ovulation can become rather confusing. An opk takes the mystery and difficulty out of the process. Ovulation prediction kits work by reading the LH surges before ovulation. They're quite accurate and easy to use.

Tip #3. Make it Fun

Try to make your sex sessions interesting and fun. If you are all tense and focused on making that much wanted baby, it can make the process a lot harder. It has been shown that if a woman is fully aroused before she has sex, then her egg is more receptive to her partner's sperm. In other words, enjoy yourself as you normally would and do not think of yourself (or your partner) as a baby-making machine.

Tip #4. The Tried and True Method

The position in which you have sex is also considered to be an important factor in how likely it is that you will conceive. The good old Missionary position is highly recommended for this task. Try to avoid positions where you are on top as gravity may mean that valuable sperm will be leaked out in the fluids that come with having sex. You can also use a pillow or tilt your pelvis to help encourage the sperm to stay in the vagina and start their journey towards their goal.

Tip #5. Don't Rush Away

It is suggested that you should remain lying down after sex so that the sperm has a better chance of reaching the egg and fertilizing it. Unless you desperately have to go to the bathroom, try and remain lying down for at least 5 minutes to help those little explorers reach their destination.

Tip #6. Live a Healthy Lifestyle

You may not want to hear it again, but you need to make sure that you are leading as healthy a lifestyle as you possibly can. Eat all of the right foods and cut out the junk. Quitting smoking and drinking (and drugs if applicable) will also go a long way in your quest to get pregnant. It's a good idea to get started on this aspect long before you try to conceive. When your body is in a healthy and strong state that has been sustained for a while, it can handle a pregnancy better.
