So here's to more births, more pictures, and more discomfort! C'mon babies, we're ready for ya!

Happy Valentines Day girls! I hope everyone enjoys a little bit of chocolate and a lot of love. :) I had my 36 week appt yesterday. I'm now 2.5 cm dilated and 90% effaced! Woo hoo!!!!! She said my cervix is very anterior and when I start having regular contractions to not waste time b/c she thinks it'll go quickly. My DH wanted her to "give her best guess" when it will be, and she told him if she could do that she'd take that skill to Vegas. But her gut tells her later next week. I am having more BH and less movement. He's dropped considerably (my clothes are not fitting well at all) and to top it off now I'm spotting from my exam yesterday. I thought it would've stopped by now, but it hasn't, adn has actually gotten chunkier and snottier (I know TMI, but I don't know how else to explain what's coming out-YUCK!). I've resorted to wearing a pantyliner. Haven't done that in almost 9 months. My GBS was also negative. :) MONICA- SOOOO happy both babies are home with you. How are you adjusting???

sarah21 - February 14

Yay Melissa! Dang everyone is progressing so much!! You are so lucky you made it this long without pantyliners. And chunky snotty sounds promising!! How exciting for everyone! Soon it'll be a ghost town on here with everyone occupied with their little ones. Sigh. I shoulda gotten pregnant earlier. :)

Rainbowbrite - February 14

Congrats melissa on the exam!!! =) that sounds good!!! Also Monica that is great that Shelby is home and they are both SOOOOO freaking adorable... it makes me so anxious to see them and wanting my own to be here... Sarah i'm thinking me and you are going to be the last ones to deliver! LOL I don't want to be... i have a GUT feeling that she will be early but then i have a feeling she is gonna prove me wrong. I go next Thursday to have my first internal exam and have my GBS test done... i'm sure i'll be like 1cm or 2cm even though they say you can walk around like that for weeks... so it really won't be much help! but progress is better than none, i guess!!!! =) Can you believe how fast this is getting here!!! I know i'm behind everyone (as well as sarah) in terms of weeks along we are but still... to know that it can happen at any given minute is crazy!!!!

Yeah you and I are gonna have to stick together. I think Astra is a late-bloomer with us, too. :)

ROBYN - February 14

Love the opener. Ok i am off to the OB for more than likely my final appt. Then tomorrow for pre-op i need to catch up on everyone but i am leaving so i will update in a little while.

Happy V-day, everyone. Monica, I loved the photos of the twins together at home. They look so adorably pudgy - just how babies should! Melissa, 'sounds like labor's right around the corner for you - good signs! I'm 37wks, 70% effaced and 0% dilated. I have no signs of impending labor - no mucousy stuff, no increased b/h's or cramping. Unless the doc decides baby Jack needs to come out early due to his low weight, I think he's planning on being in there a while longer. That's really okay with me. As excited as I am to meet him and finally hold him in my arms, I'm focusing on enjoying my last few childless days/weeks with Dh. I'm feeling more peaceful than I have in a while. I am all done reading pregnancy books and articles, though. I think I've burned myself out on them. Now, every time I read something, I'm like, "yeah yeah, I know. 'Read it before." 'Sorry, I wasn't intending to write a book when I started this. - April

cayingo - February 14

APRIL- I was in no hurry to deliver when I was pg with my 1st also. But the 2nd time around, I am more anxious to be done. The novalty has worn off. In all seriousness though, I really would love for him to be born after the 22nd. I still have some loose ends to tie up here at school, and one of my nephew's birthdays is next Thurs. the 21st. I don't want Reece to have to share hisbirthday. Silly, I know, but if I could order it, I'd request Feb. 22nd or beyond. :)

Yeah, Melissa, I know what you mean about dates. Jack's due date is March 5th, which is the same day an uncle of mine died years ago. I'd rather him not actually be born that day, not that it would be a huge deal if he was. I'd also like him to hold off til after Feb 20th, when I have a b___st-feeding cla__s! - April

Happy Valentine's Day everybody. I just finished making DH some chocolate covered strawberries. Mmm. And I ate a few. I limited myself to 3 small ones and a big one. April, glad to hear that Jack is content to hang for a while. He needs to put on a bit more fat. :) I know how you feel about reading pregnancy articles. I have the same att_tude of "Yeah yeah I know all that." But sometimes I still don't feel ready. I just realized that DH's spring break from cla__ses is either the week before or week I'm due so I am kind of rooting for her to get here a tad early so he can spend more time at home helping me. My mom is planning on coming over a lot so that is comforting. Speaking of which, I need to bounce something off you veteran moms. You all know I'll be going home 4-8 hours after the birth as long as everything is good. I live 45 minutes away from the birthing center, and the next day I am supposed to go back to the center to get checked out and make sure the baby is fine and I'm healing okay. My mom has offered to let us stay at her house after I give birth since she lives 10 minutes away from the center so I won't have to make two long trips with a brand new baby and being all sore and stuff. DH wants to spend our first night with our baby at home. I want to go to my mom's so I'll have her help and know-how and also so I don't have to sit in the car that long. Am I being selfish? Should I give in to DH or just put my foot down that I am staying at my mom's? Am I going to be feeling good enough after birth that it won't be a big deal to travel all that way or should I be more realistic and just plan for the easier way to do things? Thanks for any input...

ROBYN - February 14

Hey all back from the OB i am measuring 39 weeks and now they moved the surgery to 715 am on Monday instead of 930 am so we have to be there at 530 am on Monday for some reason that totally freaked me out. So instead of me originally showing up at 730am Justin will be born then. So i felt like i was gonna puke from nerves in there. My OB said everything will be fine he was just hilarious as always. He also had them do a biophysical in the office while we were there so my amniotic fluid is up to 15 from 8.1 so i guess i have been drinking alot which is awesome the OB was thrilled they are guestimating Justins weight to be around 7.5 give or take a little hes in the 70% percentile so regardless if hes in the 6's or 7's hes gonna be fine for weight. So i have zero progression whatsoever doc said you are locked up tight as a drum so this kid has or had no intentions of making an early appearance regardless. Ok need to catch up.

ROBYN - February 14

Sarah - thats a tough decision to make because i understand where your DH is coming from like its his family and he wants it just the 3 of you but i see your point as well will you be just as comfortable in your moms house instead of your own surroundings? I personally would think about it a little more i know the ride is a little longer home why dont you see how you feel afterwards and see if you can handle the drive home depending on whats going on with you.

Chris1975 - February 14

Oh Robyn - Good luck with everything! How exciting! I wish I knew a date for when my lo is coming :) Would make it so much more real. As it is, all i know is that it could be any time and im fully engaged... but that could go on for weeks!

Astra - February 14

Sarah, you are right I am going to be with you at the end. As to your question, I totally understand how your guy feels and also understand how it might be very supportive and easier for you to stay with mom just one night, I would maybe just play it by ear. Have mom ready for you to come if you decide to do that, or decide to go home if you feel really good and that's how you both emotionally feel in the moment. I think you should talk it over more and try and keep things flexible because you really can't know how you will be feeling after you give birth. You might really want your private family space, or you might feel like the more support the better...

sarah21 - February 14

Thanks for all the good advice ladies. You're right and I'll just have to take it one day at a time. Thanks for calming me down a bit (I was getting sorta worked up over it) and bringing me back to earth. :)

Astra - February 15

Good morning guys. Did any of you do anything for valentines day? I went out for dinner with my hubbie and we had a great time. We had not been out just the two of us for a while so it felt very special, I hope we can do it a few more times before the little guy comes. I can't wait for the weekend. We are finally having our hospital tour, and I hope we can buy those last odds and ends that we need. Also my rocker/glider has arrived in the store, I'm so excited, I might actually have a comfortable piece of furniture to take me through these last few weeks.... Hope you are all well today.

val_jo - February 15

Hello ladies. Had my 35 week appt yesterday and things are still looking great!! Baby is measuring at 36 weeks and his head has dropped pretty low. My bp is staying steady and my weight gain is at 17 pounds. I start my weekly visits next week and am anxious to see if anything is happening down there!! Been having a lot of pressure/ dull pains, who knows--maybe he'll decide to join us a bit sooner!!! I think I am def getting tired of being pregnant now--I'm sure these last few weeks will seem like an eternity. Glad to hear you all are doing so well. Monica--adorable babies!!! And Robyn, hope all goes smoothly on Monday!! Wow--I can't believe we're having our babies already!!!
