well when i came in here almost 3 weeks ago they had to give me two shots of terb then quick mag that didn't work so two more shots of terb then 5 bags of slow mag finally my contractions stopped. now i am on the procardia and i feel like nothing is happening.

kay... I dont think I am eating very different than before I got pregnant.. if anything I am just eating more fruit.. that has ben my one consistent "craving". other than that I eat the same.. I have always been addicted to food lol so I tend to eat a lot, which is why Im a runner, gotta burn off the calories some how.

ahh, kay why are you trying to scare me lol.. I have NEVER really had my pain tolerance tested, never broken a bone or got burned or anything so I dont know how much I can handle.. know I have stamina and endurance but pain? I dunno... I guess we'll see. I'll test her for ya kay lol she will laugh at that :)

Welcome Jennifer! We were talking earlier on the teen forum :) Hey, do you ladies think it would be bad for me to take tylenol along with Nifedipine (the medication I take to prevent contractions)? I've been trying to avoid it just in case but now I am in sooooo much pain I don't know if I can go without it. I feel like I want the epidural now haha! Disko, I can't believe you never had any pain meds. I was talking to my mom about when she was in labor with me, she said she was screaming for the epidural but they wouldn't give it to her because my heart rate didn't increase during the contractions or something like that... I made it so hard for her haha. She was in labor from 11pm to 6am, so I woke her up and kept her up the whole night, and morning, with no epidural or pain medication at all, and since they were worried there would be something wrong with me they had a bunch of extra doctors and nurses just staring at her... Then I was born perfectly fine, I just had a short umbilical cord (what that has to do with my heartbeat, I'm not sure) So I hope they can catch that now or Elizabeth doesn't inherit that from me... I'd really like this to be as easy as possible!

well my last check was on friday and and it had gone back to a 3 but it was a 1.4 also the whole reason i'm in here is bc they know i won't do bedrest at home bc of my 2 year old

welcome jennifer! I'm another Heather and I'm due june 2nd with a boy. I'm at about 4cm/80% effaced - and nothing has happened for 3 weeks now.I can barely walk myself and if I hadn't had ultrasounds, I'd think I was having twins too! I put on over 50 pounds. Yuck. Go Dawn!!! I'm so excited for her...hope it goes fast and smooth!!! I really wish it was me!!I'm supposed to be next!!!! :) My little guy is waiting for me to get a stretch mark first I think. Oh and Jennifer, I have a 20, nearly 21 month old daughter too and I would HATE to be away for 3 weeks like that. My husband would freak out for sure. :) And heather, yes, I can see you in there screaming at every little contraction just to p__s off the nurses too. I have this visual and it totally makes me laugh. I need to - not much else is these days!!! And disko, I love dominos pizza - my dh likes all that fancy stuff but I like Dominos best. Yum! I could use some right now but my heartburn is killing me. It went away for a few weeks and has come back with a vengeance!

hah, you guys can picture me being annoying to the nurses so easily.. Im not sure if thts a good thing or not hehe but I will do what I need to in order to get what I want. luckily for me Im staying with my mom so she can drive me to the hospital and my moms husband is a teacher so shes off work for the summer so he'll be home during the day to take me not to mention my OBs office is just down the street to all else fails I just have to make it that far and they'll do something lol.

heather, don't feel bad about being wimpy - there's nothing wimpy about giving birth with drugs. :) It's a really hard process! I want to do it natural this time but I don't know that I can hold out. The epi was great, but I hated being stuck in bed until the meds wore off. I wanted to out of bed sooo bad! I had to pee 2 or 3 times too before they'd take the stupid IV off my arm afterwards - and you have the lovely catheter. Oh sorry, maybe I shouldn't tell you all that. :)

but poor dawn had to drive herself there and back the first time... I would have slapped the nurse for telling me to go home... crazy nurse.. you try driving through contractions.. crazy..

and I just see you as getting what you want - Heather. :) haha...I'd be yelling at them cuz my fuse is short right now. I can't stand it when people treat me c___ppy at this point. Like my babiesRus issue the other day. I know YOU aren't a fan of them Heather - you did apply there didn't you and they wouldn't hire you cuz you were pregnant - or some lame excuse like that.

Anyone else have crazy cravings for popsicles or like flavored ice? I bought a 12 pack of sugar free popsicles on Friday, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one eating them and there's only two left...so I was smart to buy the 100% fruit juice ones. Anything cold I will stuff my face with. Ice cream, popsicles, ice chips, cold water.. the colder the better! Earlier in my pregnancy I was craving a lot of meat, but that's died down a lot since then. I practically lived at every steak house. I don't know if any of you have Claim Jumper near you, but they have the most aaaamazing dessert there. It's basically two cookies the size of your head, with vanilla bean ice cream, drizzled with hot fudge and caramel, then sprinkled with toffee bits. It's enough to feed an army but it is soooooo good! Ahh I'm hungry haha :)

Oh amanda you poor thing pop away at the tylenol, it's perfectly fine. I forgot you were part of the procardia club too haha I also took some rolaids when I first started taking it because it gave me heartburn and I would take tylenol for the headaches I got sometimes. Disko - give dawn my number if you don't mind, or if she has her baby in the middle of the night message me if you're awake enough! Heather - I honestly think I have a horrible pain tolerance. If I'm sick at all or have even the slightest headache I'm rushing to my cabinet for some over the counter stuff to make me feel better. I was pretty uncomfortable at the hospital but not in PAIN. I hope that makes sense. I had no issues with wanting an epidural, it was the other drugs I didn't want to take because they're narcotics and make you feel groggy. With my son I had to wait for my spinal till it was time for my c-section and I didn't know when I'd be having it and didn't want anything to seem fuzzy. Your stamina and endurance will help a lot. I didn't think it was the uncomfortableness LOL of the contractions that bothered me but the fact they kept coming one after the other and I was impatient and tired of having them.

okay so now I too want pizza, cookie dough, and potato soup! LOL--Kay I come off as such a sales person sometimes bc I think its in my nature... I was in sales for a while so yeah. Lol...but I think I'm going back to Fuddruckers after my appt tommorrow! Its my first appt at the "new" docs office...so we'll see how it all goes! Gosh, poor Dawn and Disko! I can't belive they sent Dawn home like that...I'dve been p__sed...! Disko, you poor thing! I hate hearing about everyone in pain! So we've got 2 June Mommies probably having their LO's tonight or early tommorrow, and Heather, your SIL is in labor too? Thats awesome! How exciting! Kay Im going to try to go as long as I can with out anything... I'll find out when it happens if I can handle the pain or not. one big reason I wanted some pain meds is because I decided to video tape the birth so DH can see it and I dont want it to be me screaming my head off the whole time lol I dont want to make him feel bad for not being there I just want him to be able to "experience" the birth as much as he can. so if im not screaming away it will be more about her birth and less about my pain.... does that make sense?

okay, I jsut thought I'd mention that I'm a popsicle lover too. Popsicles, ice cream and chocolate milk. I;mhooked ont his natural stuff from the Whole Foods Market. Usually I'm lactose intolerlant, but I can drink half a gallon of natural chocolate milk and not be constipated AT ALL! In fact, I'm pooping quite regularly and easily! Thats never happened to me before! usually Milk makes me have stomach issues!!!The popsicles I've been having are all natural too with chunks of fruit in them... I finished a box of strawberry ones and I only have 1 mango pop left...time to restock tommorrow. Okay--- I'm going ot stop talking about food, bc I will want to eat again and I need tosleep!!!! Good Night!!!! Oh wait--- and yeah Heather- your DH is going to have to get used to taking daily showers again when he comes home. Dh got used to not having to shower every night just when we were apart for a month and a half! Men are so dirty sometimes!!!! Lol!Oh and Kay- yes I did tell DH exactly what I thought. You know, thats all I wanted. SOme good old burgers, and he got laid and got off, so why can't I have a burger?! Thats all I wanted!!!!
