Hi girls...my baby girl Antonia arrived on the 6th October at 8:47am..she weighed 8lbs 14oz...completly natural drug free 5 hour labor...no st_tches! Couldn't ask for more really. I labored for 2 hours at home, went to hospital and 3 hours later there she was! I just got home from the hospital today so am a bit tired but we are doing really well. I have a 2 year old little boy as well but my husband is off work with us for 4 weeks to help us all settle in as a 'new' family. Not looking forward to the sleepless nights but she is so sweet, beautiful and worth every second. Congrats to all the other new mommies and best wishes for the upcoming inductions and ceasars! look forward to reading your good news :-)

Joey Congratulationssssss! WOW- i really give you credit- that is an amazing story! You don't usually hear about the drug-free labors and to be done within 5 hours is really something else. Well you got your prize (baby girl) so enjoy now. I know it will be tough but it's worth it right!! Congrats again! :)

CONGRATS JOEY!! Sounds like you had a great labor!!!! I wish Joey's labor on everyone else! Glad to hear all is going well!!! YEAH!

I think so Beka!!!! I can't believe it is the 9th and almost everyone has gone! I am going to be here for a while!! I think I will be getting induced...I don't know why...I just have this feeling!!! Jen posted on myspace this morning that she has had the thing in to soften and dilate the cervix since yesterday and they just started pitocin! So she should be in some discomfort as we speak! Not that we want her in pain...but pain is good here! ha!

Congrats Joey....sounds like a dream delivery...my 39 week appointment went...eh...okay...only 1 cm dilated and 75% effaced, but I felt his rump in the middle of my stomach now...does that mean I may be 100% effaced...he is only at a station 0, so I am sure I have a while to go. They offered to take him tomorrow, but I am going to wait until the 15th and see where I am at. That is the date the mid-wives are going by. I am checking for my plug obsessively...he has been extremely active...looking forward to him slowing down a little...they did an u/s and they have him estimated at 8.2 pounds...Now I am freaking out that he is so big already...I know they can be off by a pound or 2...but that is up or down...oy vey... Beka and EJ...what are your due dates?

Wow Heather- that is a big babe right now but my son Jacob was 8lbs 10oz at 39 weeks so I guess that isn't any different!!! I give you a LOT of credit for not taking them up on the induction...most people in your situation would have!!! Did i tell you guys I had my appt yesterday? He was super quick, didn't do an internal, babe's measuring fine, he said he would strip my membranes next Wednesday so we will see. My dd is the 18th!

OMG, so many of you had your babies while I did! It's taken me awhile, it's been pretty rough, but Scarlett Jules was born on Oct 5 at 1:30 am. I had labour pains from about 4 am Oct 4, on and off all day, never doing the textbook 5 min's apart thing. THen all of the sudden, around 5 pm bam, they were 2 min's apart. We have a 45 min drive to the hospital and that was hell! When we got there I was 6 cm dilated and by 11 I was fully, but with a lip. As many of you know I was trying for a vbac2c. Well the lip of the cervix never did go away and I was in ma__sive pain by then as it was a drug free labour. My midwives had to get an OB in and she said the baby's head was not descending and so took me for my 3rd c-section. The spinal didnt' work entirely properly and I could feel everything by the end so that was NOT fun. But Scarlett came out looking perfect and the big honker weighed 9'3. So apparently my babies are just too big for me. Then of all things I ended up with a post spinal migraine for the past couple of days, which is excruciating head pressure and very hard to deal with when you want to nurse your baby as the only cure is to lay flat on your back. Anyway, today I'm finally somewhat human again, just sore, but Scarlett is the cutest thing ever and doesn't look newborn at all. So congrats to the rest of you and good luck for those of you still waiting!

omg Saird, sounds quite painful. I'm sorry you didn't get your VBAC but at least you have a beautiful baby to remind you it's all worth it. EJ you are going soon! omg only 9 days until your due date? Why are they stripping your membranes? Heather you are right there too! i can't believe how fast it's all coming! My due date isn't until october 31st so i will definitely be last...i might as well post in the November forum- lol. I can't wait.....

Hi Ladies - Hope everyone is doing well. I haven't read any posts since page 10 or 11, so I hope everyone is well. I've been hospitalized for a week and I'm just getting back into the swing of things so my apologies for not posting in so long. I went into the hospital last Tuesday night because I thought I was in labor, ended up I had kidney stones. I'll post my birth story so everyone can read, but I'm so proud to announce the birth of our healthy baby boy, Iganzio Pasquale Calabria! I'll have to read up when I have some time on how everyone is doing and who had their babies. Liz - Miss you girl!! We have lots of catching up to do. Talk to you gals soon.

aww thanks girls...and congrats to all of you!! I feel so happy for everyone :-) Catsmommy, you poor thing, glad you now have baby in your arms though...and Saird, also sorry to hear things went a little rough for you and you didn't get the vbac you wanted. Heather just wanted to say that I was only 1cm dilated and not effaced at all at 39 weeks and at 40weeks 4 days i had a completly natural labor so seriously, don't read too much into it. My baby never 'dropped' until I was in labor (my first didn't either). Everyone is different. Also they estimated my baby (by a scan) at 38 weeks was 9pounds...well i went to 40 weeks 4 days and she was 8lbs 14oz no probs pushing her out- i;m not a big girl... just wanted to give you some hope :-)

Wow Beka I didn't realize it was only 9 days until you just pointed that out! ha!!! Well he will only strip my membranes if I ask him to - to get things started...WHICH doesn't even work all the time. I haven't decided yet what I will do....Hopefully the little guy/gal will be here by then! ha! Mari- I can't wait to hear your story- I am going through some major Mari withdrawl! Congrats Aryanna! Sorry about the C- I am glad that you at least got to experience some of the labor but what a bummer to end up with a C after all of that...all that matters is a healthy babe I know!

Oh wow so many new blessings in the world!!! Congrats everyone, I am so happy for you. Only 18 days left for me until my C-Section!!! Things are finally looking up- my amniotic fluid level is stable at 9 so that is great and the babies heart is strong and steady. So that is my update.. congrats to everyone with new bundles of joy and hang in there to everyone who is still waiting for their babies!

Thanks for the post Joey...tt makes me feel SOOO much better...I don't know why I am so nervous...I want him out obviously...but I wish there was an easier way. I am so nervous about the post-partum recovery. Congrats mari on the little man...you are a superwoman. Kidneystones too? Oy... EJ...you are down to single digits of waiting...it is crazy....by all of my u/s, today is my due date...but by my LMP...Wednesday is...oh well...what is 5 more days? Oh yeah...it is 5 more days of being so uncomfortable...LOL...It is supposed to be beautiful and warm here this weekend, so if he decides to stay in until Monday, I can deal. It will give me one last weekend with just me and hubby... Overall, how is everyone else feeling? Excited? Nervous? Exhausted? Any inclination that labor is coming??? Wonderful energy to all of you!!

Hi ladies, ok so did you or do you guys have babies that get hiccups EVERY day MULTIPLE times a day!!?? this poor little thing is always hiccuping! Could it be something I am doing?? omg i feel so sorry for her! Maybe its the breech position???? Ladies, a little more to gooooO!
