okay girls - let me clue you in on what it is like to be a mom at 15 or 16 years old - HELL! You say that you are excited about your baby coming - that is only because you have no idea what life is going to be like for you in the future. I was a mom at 17 and without an education, had to work 10 hour days 16 days a week just to pay a sitter, keep the lights on (which didn't always happen), and feed my baby. We had to live in a run down, crime infested apartment complex because that was all I could afford. Because I was always working - my son was very irritable and moody all the time (basically unhappy) - which no child should ever be. Oh - it only gets worse from there - I had to keep working 50 to 60 hours a week and get my GED - then find funding for college. I had 5 cla__ses a semester, and worked and tried to be a parent to my miserable child (which I was not that good at because I was too young to be a good mother in the first place). I am now 30 and have graduated with a 3.0 with a Bachelors degree in marketing. I have built my first home and have a career as a pharmaceutical sales rep. This is not the typical ending though - most will end up trailer trash and their kids will have to live in poverty.

oh - let me also tell you this. I recently went to New York City on a business trip - there is a life happening out there that you will never have if you are a teen mother. Just Think! You can have an education, travel the world, and have a wonderful career, THEN have your children. Why would you want to only do one when you can have it all? I am sorry I am raving, but I just get so upset when I see young girls brag about being pregnant.

mandy just because you was 17 and couldnt take care of your baby some young mothers can im 14 and im having my baby in 3 months and i can support my baby you make it sound bad to have a baby

im 19 and and over due a couple of days...i dont think it is good for teens to go out and try to get pregnant because they cant really take care of themselves yet..they need more time being a kid themselves but when it does happen and by accident a teen does get pregnant they know they have to grow up real quick.ive seen some 17 year olds more mature that 35 year olds..and dont no one try to argue with that because you all know someone like that (boy or girl).its not bad to have a baby..its a beautiful thing and i think if you love your child enough you will do what you can to give he or she the best lifesyle possible..

ashley - May 25

im 15 and 5'4 and almost in my 8th month how much should i weigh?

genevie - May 25

you have gained the right amount but if you were really skinny when you got pregnant you have to gain more weight

Ashley - May 26

I was 100lbs when i became pregnant how much weight should i gain?

genevie - May 26

you were under weight when you got pregnant so you should have gained around 35

genevie - May 26

for your height your suppose to have the normal weight of 115 or 110 so you have to try to gain more

genevie - May 26

well i mean when you werent pregnant your suppose to weigh more thats why your not showing as much

danielle - July 14

when do you start to show? everyone says i have a small belly and i am starting 6 months and this is my first pregnancy

Heathre - July 14

I am 4 weeks pregnant with my first child and I look like I am showing a bit because of all the bloating. Some days the bloating goes down and I look smaller. And to those of you who think it is necessary to down the younger mothers-to-be. Birth is an amaing thing, I don't believe it is anyone's place to tell someone that is expecting that it isn't a miracle.

The size of your stomach is not important right now. The health of your baby is. If your DR is ok with your size and weight gain so far and your baby seems to be doing good than you should not worry. I actually lost weight when I started to stress over my size and tried to gain weight because everyone told me my belly should be bigger and I should be getting fatter! I am a very active person who, by profession, works out every day and believe me being pregnant does not give anyone the right to eat whatever they want and stop exercising. Keeping yourself healthy is more important to your child than packing on the pounds! I am 5'7" and weighed 117lbs before getting pregnant. I am 40weeks today and weigh 149lbs!! but my fundal height is only 34cm. I am just having a small baby. He has a great heart rate and is very active so my DR told me to stop stressing myself over weight and my size and just take care of myself and baby!! Everyone is different. Just keep in good communication with your DR and he/she will advise you to a nutrition specialist.

Hi -- Last night after going through some posts about "how big should my belly be?" and "go here to see a picture of my belly" I thought it would be fun to make a webpage with pictures of our pregnant bellies. Of course all I have right now is MY picture .... so was hoping some of you would send me your pictures. The page can be found at http://baby.ksh49.com Info on where to send the pics is there. THANKS LADIES
