Kerry, WOW! I hope that in 5 weeks from now my baby will be on a schedule too! How did you start her schedule? I am nursing my baby and so she needs to eat a bit more frequently. She drinks about 3oz per feeding. She is 4 weeks 2 days old and she weighs 10 lbs 7 oz.

My baby (11 weeks) has 3 bottles of formula (4-6 oz each) and b___stfeeds the rest of the day/night. He gets an evening bath, a book or two, then bedtime at 9pm. He sleeps until 5 or 6 am. We heard that a bath is a great way to instill a schedule for bedtime. Your infant will have some idea about what to expect if you stick to a ritual of some type. He wakes around 3am but only long enough for me to stick my nipple in his mouth and he drifts off to sleep. Good luck Toya:) It gets easier as they grow older. Not long and your baby will be sleeping just as long.

Toya I try and do the same thing every night the bath is a great starter even when shes getting fussy to eat once i put her in the tub she knows that food is coming next and she just relaxes don't worry it will come i thought it never would but Its getting better all the time one day you'll just find they begin to get into a routine once your baby gets eating alittle more she will sleep longer because their belly stays full longer good luck like i said try and do the same thing all the time they will start to get use to what comes next.

Kerry, thanks. I started her bedtime routine today. At 9 o'clock she gets her bath, by 9:15 I am putting on her lotion, diapering her, and putting on her jammies. At 9:25 I am feeding her and at 9:45 I am reading her a story. I put her down at 9:55. She started crying once she was in her ba__sinet. I waited 5 minutes before going to her...I talked to her and rubbed her head for 2 minutes...I left and then she started crying a little...I am going to leave her for 7 minutes this time...we'll see if she can fall asleep on her own. :) I am going to do this routine every day for 2 weeks and see how things go. :) Wish me luck!!

Hang in there keep it up and your baby will start to understand what comes next do you give your baby a pacifier? I only give my daughter hers at bed time and then she drifts off to sleep after the bath and feeding I thing the secret is when your baby gets alittle older like 2 months or so make sure you put them to bed when they are sleepy not asleep and they will learn to go to sleep on their own what ever you do don't start bad habbits now like rocking them to sleep because the older they get the longer it takes to rock them to sleep and you don't want to be rocking a 2 year old to sleep friend of ours have a 1 year old and she will not go to sleep unless she is rocked and it sometimes takes 2 hours for that to happen.Good luck I'm sure it will work out just keep up the same routine.
