Last night I experienced contractions 5 min apart for 7 hours, however I would consider them to be mild. I went to the hospital & was only dilated to 1/2 cm & 70% effaced. Any suggestions on how to get this rolling?!?! I'm ready to meet the little one!

With my first preg. I sat on an exercise ball with my hands on the back of the couch and bounced like crazy! I had my little girl 10 days early. She's 20 months now. I am now expecting a little boy. Good Luck!

I could use some suggestions as well. My due date is tomorrow and ive been stuck at 1 cm and 0% for the last 3 weeks. I pa__sed hand fulls of my mucous plug but still nothing. The stranger part of all this is, I am a Birth Doula and a 3rd time mom. Shouldn't I know what to do?!?!?!

Gina, that just goes to say, "babies come when they want to come." Interesting that you are a doula. I have heard wonderful things about doulas. My doc would like me to get a doula for this labor incase I couldn't get a epidural, ( I have low platelets). But good luck to you! P.S. Like I said try an exercise ball. It made me have horrible cramps that night I did it but I dilated very fast.

i'm 39 weeks, regular contractions, 70% affaced and not dilated! if any of these works, let me know. I'm so ready! I've been the grumpy pregnant lady for weeks because I haven't slept much, my husband won't come near me some days because I'm so grumpy! HAHA

This same situation happed to my SIL. Her ds was born on 9/28 by c section after 2 seperate visits to the hospital to be induced and get her progressed past 70% effaced and 3 cm dilated. turns out that her pelvis was too narrow to every deliver her 6lb 7 oz baby. this was her first, so you just never know. But don't worry if this happens to you. she did wonderfully and feels great just 2 days after having him. Good luck Ladies!!

i dont have an answer for you, but i can sympathis. i watched my best friend go through 47 hours of early and painful labor with no dialation what so ever. but after that it took her 3 hours to go from 1-10cm's. dont worry, youll see your little one eventually....it does end.

Some how I am on here 2 times, I am also the Gina person...........anyway......I am still pregnant 40 weeks 6 days. I was at labor and deliver on Friday with contractions 3 to 5 minutes apart 2 cm dilated 50% effaced and baby is at -1 station. I have a scheduled induction for Wednesday at 6 am. After arriving home from the hospital I woke up the next morning with lots of clear thick sticky mucus, the nurse said it sounded like my plug. I lost alot of that over the last couple of days and I woke up from sleeping a little while ago and my panties were SOAKED with this clear slimy stuff, I had to wipe 5 times to get it all off me. It looked a exactly like cervical effacment. I am having mild contractions pretty regular. This is my 3rd baby and unlike anything I have expierenced so far. Either way I know Jake is going to be here by thursday :o) I cant wait to hold him and see his face and b___stfeed him for the first time.

if you havent already had the baby i would say walk your b___t off... (i walk at least 2 1/2 hours a day)... nipple stimulation... or s_x... and this might be TMI but if your going to have s_x to have the baby you actually need to let the sperm sit in you for a bit... there is a chemical in the sperm that helps dilate and efface the cervix (or so i've been told) good luck and hope you have him/her soon!!!
