HELP On Home Birthing Please

i am really at a crossroads at the moment. my partner wants me to have a hospital birth, because we will have medical help on hand if something goes wrong and also because midwives cost so much when they assist you in a homebirth situation.. if there is anyone in Queensland, or Australia at all who has had a homebirth here please... i really want to know how you went about this! i have suggested to my partner to try a homebirth with just us, though that idea completely threw him over the edge with nerves. is there anyone out there who can give me some advice at all? every day my want for a homebirth keeps growing and yet my partner is restricting me because of the cost... any advice please, would be very appreciatable! kare xx.

im not in queensland (im in florida USA), but i had a homebirth and it was amazing! it is your birth and it should be how you want regardless of cost, and your partner certainly shouldnt be restricting you. most midwives will work out a payment schedule with you, some except barters too. where i am homebirths are covered by insurance. dont let cost be the deciding factor! call up some midwives and talk to them. you can work it out. tell your partner that when he is the one pushing the baby out, then he can decide where to do it!!
