Hi ladies ... After 3 hours of pushing... I'm left with a new surprise. Any ideas on how to heal hemroids and how long they usually last for???

What exactly do these feel like? I think I may have them but not sure.

Hi yourtrish. I was pushing for 3 hours as well, b/c my ds was sunny side up... they told me that afterwards. Wat about you? Anyways, at the beginning I was totally swollen everywhere, and I was 100% sure that I had hemroids, but what I did was eat lots of fruits and veg. and fibre and every single time I went to the toilet, I rinsed myself with the shower. It was a total pain, but now 3 weeks later I am a different person. Werent you due around my time btw?

If they are internal, then go with apr's suggestion with fiber as well as keeping yourself hydrated. If you are constipated it will only make it worse and reopen the wounds. yuck. If they are external I would recommend getting some tucks pads. ;)

I pushed for 3 hours because my nurse was retarted and only after 3 hours of the baby hitting my tail bone did my doctor show up and say " Why the hell are you in THAT position?!"...despite the many attempts at my DH and I trying to get her to move me. Anyways, it's 6 days post-partum, still have one nasty external hemroid that doesn't look like it's getting any better despite the creams and anti-inflamatory drugs. I'm going to wait it out another week, but if nothing changes, I'm going in for the "lance" discussion. The thing is like a third head and I can't sit OR walk, so b___stfeeding is really uncomfortable and teaching the baby a proper latch on is harder than it shoiuld be since I'm always horizontal...anyways, I'm going to send out my DH for some fiber at the grocery store. Thanks for your help ladies. Oh the joys we share :)

HI yourtrish. I answered on the other forum as well nd have something else to add. I mentioned getting them lanced (I just went last Thurs) and it turned out wonderfully. there was pain, but your doc will give you Tylenol #'s or something. Also, if this is what you need to do, make sure you have someone to watch your lo after...you won't be in any postion to do much . I wen tback to the docs today and it seems I have an internal one as well :( I've got some suppositories which will hopefully help. Anyways, heres to hoping yours goes away on it's own!

This is too funny....after I delivered my son it looked like I had a nice grape cluster back there !!! LOL I used the tucks and meds they gave me but they went away within 2 weeks.

Oh god don't even get me started on this one! I delivered my daughter in may of 05 and I got pregnant with my son in feb 06 and with my daughter I had no hemerroids at all and I was so happy and so proud and whatnot. welllllll during the middle part of this pregnancy I was getting a bit itchy and that itchiness turned into pain and itch and I went to my dr. and he said I had deleloped hemerroids. I was like WHAT??? Well I was told to use tucks pads and preperation H but neither of them work. I have heard about a surgury that you can get to remove them and as painful and excrutiating as it is supposed to be I would reather opt for that that the annoying reminder every day. I am not exited to see that they will be like after pushing out my son. Eek
