I am at 37 weeks and I lost my plug four days ago. There was no blood in it, but it came out on three different days. Most people that I talked to said that I'd go into labor within days, so I got really excited and got ready to go to the hospital. But nothing happened except for Braxton Hicks contractions. So I guess it really doesn't mean true labor is starting for everyone.

this morning I had a lot of blood when wiping--it was kinda mixed into heavy regular mucuosy discharge---is this bloody show? Should I be concerned? The whole family is holding their breath for me to go into labour so any advice would be sooo helpful. (;

Hi smileful, sounds to me like a show! I wouldn't be concerned. How exciting, a show and contractions, i bet you have your baby in no time :o) I've had alot of the mucus but no blood in it apart from when i had a sweep.Although you may have read about when i gave birth to a "prawn" which could have been part of it. After reading loads of these threads i think i have finally come to terms with the fact that she'll come when she comes. Of course i'll still try the walking,squats etc.. and begging the midwife to poke and prod and hard as she can to hopefully bring it on, but at least it can only be another 2.5 weeks max before im induced and have her. Oh and advice...keep doing your squats to encourage your baby down, show her who's boss!!

i lost my plug a good 14 hours into labor (1 AM - 11 PM). it was A LOT of mucus, not just a dime size and it had pinkish streaks in it.

14 hrs of labour krista you must have been exhausted!!

i think everyones plug is different. mine just finished coming out yesterday (3 days after having membranes stripped). the first 2 days were just a little, then yesterday, it REALLY came out. i don't feel anything though. no contractions. no nothing.

Hi there all, i am brand new to this site and hoping someone can help me!!!!!! last night when i went to the toilet i had coming out of me lots of what i can only describe as discharge that looked just like male s____n!!! it was really thick with a yellowish tint, thee was no blood, is this my show????? i am 34 weeks pregnant?

Genjacgem- it could be part of your mucous plug, or just the natural thickening discharge that our bodies produce, especially as we progress later in pregnancy. Do not fear; it is not an indication that you are starting labor. If you find that it has blood in it or is dark brown or pink, still stay calm, but then call your doctor. In the meantime, relax; I am sure you are fine. I think that happened to me around that week, and I am due to have my son this Weds. Remember- even if this doesn't calm you, call your Ob. office. Don't feel dumb.

Sounds like your plug to me. It can come out slowly over time. Labor could be anytime now or 2 weeks away. It just means you are beggining to open up. It can be tinged with brown or pink, no worries with that either, all very normal.
