With my DD I lost mine all at once (it was quite icky looking and freaked me out at first), and she was born 36 hours later. I had been having mild but regular contractions at the time. Within 24 hours later I was at the OB getting checked b/c of their intensity, and was found to be 4cm dialated. They admitted me and I had her 12 hours later. I have heard it can be anywhere from hours to days after. Good luck!

I beleive I lost mine when I was around 35 weeks. I had my daughter when I was 38 weeks.

With my last two pregnancies I never lost it all at once. I would lose some at a time (and it does regenerate itself). Both times I lost it a couple months before I was due. With my first I was induced at 38 1/2 and I went into labor on my own with my second at 38 1/2

Did you lose it all? It is quite large and can be hard to tell. I lost a clump (about the size of a quarter) exactly two weeks before I delivered, but I continued to have very snotty discharge (which is still plug) until I delivered. **Two weeks later I got bloody show and went into labor 12 hours later**
Be careful not to get excited - I did and that two weeks went very slow. I would wait for a show. Hope that was helpful- good luck!
