I'm 40 weeks and 3 days, my due date was dec 21, yesterday. I have dialated to 4 cm and 80% effaced. I was having contractions and cramping all day yesterday. Today i have had no cramping or contractions. I have just had pressure in my pelvic area. The doctor said my baby was very low. I am going to be induced next tuesday. But i was hoping he would come out sooner. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? no contractions or any signs of labor 40 weeks and 3 days? is it normal or is something wrong?

oh my god. same position. haha. i was due the 21st as well, and im less dialated and effaced than you. the last two days ive been having ma__sive contractions that go away almost as soon as i lay down. today and yesterday, for the most part, however, i didnt even really feel pregnant. i felt totally normal. just some pressure in the same area... like where his head is. i dont have an induction date yet, they are going to wait until the 29th to even schedule one, but ooh my gosh, i want him to come out. we are all so ready now. the house finally looks okay (i guess i can clean some more) and everything is set up. my hospital bag is ready to go, so is my diaper bag and everything. i barely have signs of labor. i havent lost my mucus plug yet, no water breaking.. nothing! i hope nothings wrong, im sure it isnt. i guess he just has plans to stay a little longer than i was hoping. this guys gonna be stubborn, i can already tell.. good luck!

rae, my water hasnt broken and i havent lost my plug either. I've had my membranes stripped twice and it hasnt worked. i'm not having contractions or anything else. Is this your first pregnancy?

yeah. first one. still nothing... i havent had anything stripped, and im almost glad, cause it doesnt sound comfortable. i guess hes just gonna come when he feels like it. i hope not on christmas, just because i want him to have a birthday AND a christmas. i have tried so many of those things people say to, and nothing has worked yet. i made myself sick eating a pineapple and then drinking brown sugar water... haha. tummy ache for sure, but no contractions. im not going to try anything else, i dont think. im just going to wait it out... i hope i can be patient enough. is this your first as well?

i hope the lack of response means you were luckier than i was and have gone into the hospital!...
im still waiting. but thats okay. i guess he isnt ready yet.
