I am 3 days overdue and like most, I'm tired of being pregnant. Now I've heard that castor oil helps for some. How much castor oil are you suppose to take at one time?

Never heard of that. I dont see why it would help, its not like you have something stuck in your bowel you are trying to ease out lol Perhaps making your intestines have fecal movement might help the baby get a move along too?!

I'll be overdue in a few days, but since I haven't dropped at all my dr. has already suggested inducing me. I'm against it. I've heard about castor oil. It will give you diarrhea, but I guest the bowel movements somehow stimulate your body. It worked for a friend of mine. I'm going for a ma__sage before I give in to the castor oil.

In your post t_tle, I think you also meant Castor Oil :) You wouldnt want to use CASTROL oil...body aint an engine baby he he xo

Yeah thats what I thought about the castor oil too Lulumay. All it will do is help 'clean' out your intestinal tract and cause you to pa__s stools or have some diarreah.. which I guess loosening your bowel can help the baby drop down or the muscles around that area in your intestine to move things along :) Good Luck xo

I heard it's nasty!!!!! If you drink it, probably wanna mix it w/ some OJ. So it wont be as thick.

It's 2 Tbsp of castor oil (the med not the car lube) in your choice of liquid. I did it with rootbeer. You drop the castor oil in rootbeer and it was easier if you put your hand over the cup, knock the gla__s hard until it fizzes and chug. (Like doing a tequila slammer haha). The cramps in your intestines can stimulate contractions. Sometimes it will bring on labor, or diarrea, or just really REALLY bad smelling gas. When I was desparate, I drank a gla__s, walked 2 miles and would come home and sit on my birthing ball. There are ALOT of different tricks. I tried them all. BTW, I don't know if anyone saw the article this past year about s_x at the end of pregnancy helping induce labor was a crock. That's at least what the "experts" say. I know midwives say different though. Good luck to you and I hope that helped.

well, i did it last week and nothing happened. i only went to the bathroom twice and had no contractions.....so, i don't know.

It just depends on the person. A friend did it and it worked, my mom said she had tried it when she was preg. with my brother and it did nothing but make her go to the bathroom.
