It can help move the baby into the correct position which can then help make labour progress.

i was wondering the same thing. i bought one for comfort reasons, but i only sit on it a little a day. it helps my back. i didn't actually know if it helps bring baby down or not. i know walking does, but this is a little more convienent to just sit on it!!! anyone else have any more comments on the ball?

I bought one and it is great! Just bounce on it, sit on it, rotate your pelvis and do whatever. I find it's comfy just to sit on it and watch tv. I plan on using it during labor at the hospital if I am able. And you can always use it post partum to get back into shape.

I was a little skeptical of the merits of the ball...but I have to say that it was invaluable to have during my labour...i had a unmedicated labour and delivery and the ball and a bath were fantastic for eleviating the pain - the only things that truly worked. An additional benefit of the ball comes post-partum. for the first few months of my sons life, when he was fussy, holding him while bouncing gently on the ball, 100% of the time, no fail, calmed him.

well, this may have nothing to do with the ball, but i have sat on it for the past few night, and today she has dropped alot. so, i am going to continue sitting on it, maybe it will bring her on out!
