i work at a grocery store, and the other day a woman came in and told me that her doctor told her she needed to buy and take castor oil to hopefully induce labor. i know castor oil is a heated discussion topic, but obviously some doctors don't think it's a bad thing. although, i suppose she could have just lied to make herself feel better about the whole castor oil idea.

I would not take the castor oil. When the baby is ready, you will go into labor. Plus, if your doctor feels that you "need" to go into labor, he/she could induce you in the hospital where it is much safer for you and the baby.
