Lavender oil unfortunately wont kick start labor. However, Not only will it be a natural antibiotic cleanser for the bath (or birthing tub...especially with a bit of sea salt) it is extremely relaxing. Many women, towards the end of their pregnancy just need a bit of relaxation to a__sist them to go into labour. Drinking a gla__s of red wine, relaxing in a lavender scented tub, or really being able to rest sometimes brings on labour, simply because the woman was so overwhelmed with stress or fear of labour that she couldn't allow her body to progress into her birthing time. If you are worried about a painful labour, having any difficulty with stress at home or work, or if you are having trouble sleeping, AND you are nearing your edd, you might try a lavender scented bath and a gla__s of red wine, then do your best to rest in the most comfortable position possible. Turn down the lights, and light a candle or two and play some beautiful relaxing music. Daydream about having your baby painlessly and easily, and holding him/her in your arms. It just might be exactly what you need to start labour. Many blessings to you and your little babe Lynette!
