I am 38 weeks pregnant and have been having some contractions and I am dialated to two.I have had no signs that my mucus plug is comming out.I would like to know if the mucus plug always falls out and this is something I should just wait for or if sometimes it doesn't come out at all.I feel like I am so close but if it has to come out then maybe I am further then I thought.

Hi, I'm eactly where you are at 38 weeks and no sign of a mucus plug. Is this your first? This is my third and I'm wondering if sometimes it doesn't come out until you're in labour. I've heard that some people don't even realize that they've lost it but I'm pretty sure I would've noticed that. I've been checking every time! I hope for "our" sakes we don't have to take this as a sign that we're farther from delivering than we hoped. Good luck and I'll let you know if anything happens in my case!
