my due date was yesterday and my husband managed not to go on the ship yet however he HAS to go on sept 6th no matter what so at first i was excited thinking well that's good now that im a day over and not even having false labor I'm not sure if that's going to be enough time either. My legs are doing the same thing and im depressed as well not so bad this week since my hubby is still home with me but my doctor says that it's perfectly normal to feel that way it's called the baby blues most women get it either at the end of pregnancy or right after they have a child in some cases it does turn into post-pardom depression which can be very bad but for most women it doesnt get that extreme however if it does that's normal too and it's not our fault and we shouldnt feel guilty about it however we should get help if we have any scary thoughts of things i dont want to mention but I'm sure we all understand. However baby blues is very common and that if you do happen to get them during the end of pregnancy you have a better chance of not getting them after birth and not having it become PPD

Do not try pineapple, somebody suggested it to me and i ate a whole fresh pineapple. I am now two days overdue. I was told that midwives only let you go seven days over and am hoping to see the midwife this afternoon and get a date. I also tried vindaloo and that doesn't work either...any more tips would be great!

So if the baby dropped..How long does it take for labor to start. Anyone know!!!From yesterday, I am just feeling very light and easy to breathe..Getting great sleep as well..Seems like all the weight have gone (Seriously) I don't feel like I am carrying any extra weight..I find it strange...!!..Is it normal to feel like this..I am 40 weeks tomorrow.. I don't know how I will manage to pa__s my days if this baby plans to stay inside after due date...

If this is ur first then usually the baby drops a couple of weeks before. If this is your second or third..etc. then the baby could drop right before labor or during labor....This happened to me. with my second i didn't drop till i was in labor and with this one ( due today) the baby has been dropped since last week and i'm still not in labor...

krystal-This is my first one..It started to drop two weeks ago but this wednesday when I visited my doctor...He said baby have dropped...My doctor said he waits 7 days after due date before induction. I am just scared with this whole thing..Oh Well! Do you feel different after baby have dropped..I mean very light, feels like all the weight have either gone or shifted...? I am just very nervous...

everyone feels differently..alot of common ones are feeling lighter, more breathing room, pelvic pressure, peeing more, and backache.

I was due on August 29th and went to the doctor that morning because I had orangish discharge in my underwear. The doctor checked me and although it was my due date, I still hadn't dilated at all. I told the doctor I thought that I would have to be induced and she agreed that it was starting to look that way so I was sent out the door and told to come back for my regular appointment on Wednesday. I had cramps all day long and braxton hicks-a lot. Then about 9:30pm I had a real contraction. I called the doc, same one I seen earlier, and she told me to come up to the hospital. I was just going to go back to bed but I couldn't sleep b/c the contractions kept coming and getting worse. I called my mom to come stay with my little girl and my husband drove me to the hospital. I just knew I was going to be sent home. But when the nurse checked me I had dilated a dimple. She said she would check me again in an hour, of course meanwhile they were monitoring my contractions, and in an hour I was at 1 cm. My doctor said I wasn't leaving without a baby. Next morning at 9am I had dilated to 5cm. My doc broke my water and sent in the anesthesiologist to give my epidural. I had my beautiful baby boy at 11:53 am. Just in time for lunch, like my daughter. He was 8lbs.12oz. and 20 inches long and I have the st_tches to show for it. He is such a good baby and he is absolutely gorgeous. So there it is ladies. I hadn't even dilated as of lunch time on my due date but I still went into labor on my due date, I'm still in shock, and had a beautiful baby the next day. I though for sure I would have to be induced. I guess the moral of the story is, it doesn't really matter what's going on those last couple of weeks because I was worried to death because I hadn't even begun to dilate. The baby is coming when he wants to and that's just all there is to it. Good luck to you all.

truthfully many say that the oil works however i tried and it didnt do anything but make me throw up but others say it works I think everyone is different, however I asked my doctor and he also said that s_x helps because of the mans s____n so no self inflicted orgasms will work I also was told that nipple stimulation if to long can cause shortness of oxygen both for you and baby

roxanne - September 3

try dried thyme tea just twice a day for a week

I am scheduled to be induced on Tuesday September 6th, 2005. I have studied lots of information on inducing labor early. I am having a large baby expected to be atleast 10lbs. at my due date September 11th. I have been in alot of pain and discomfort. And to add a 4 year old daughter who is craving attention. I tried castor oil at 38 weeks, 2 tbls at 5:00 am and then again at 12 noon, and yet again the day after at 9:00am. The contractions from the diarhea is supposed to kick off your contractions I thought. I am still pregnant. Nipple stimulation is supposed to work also. Let's see I started off manually, then eventually used my electric b___st pump several times a day. Nipple stimulation produces oxytocin which then in turn produces contractions. I am still pregnant. S_x they say the prostoglandins in sperm are to help with thinning out your plug or your cervix. Tried it I'm still pregnant. I believe what may work for you may not work for others. When that baby wants to come out he/she will come out unless medically induced. Even though I am only scheduled 5 days before my due date I am not giving up. It's the earliest I could get in due to the holiday. Every thing I looked up was natural and non harmful to the baby. So to others I wish you luck.

I have tried over the last week the following methods - some even suggested by my midwife but nothing has worked! Pineapple S_x (including oral) Curry & other spicy food Gallons of Raspberry tea walking nipple stimulations Lavender oil in the bath & stimulating the acupressure point between your thumb & forefinger. Nothing has worked! I am having a sweep next, but was hoping to avoid this! I think I must have 1 lazy kid in here!

ok heres the story im sceduled for an inducton on the 6th they say baby is gaining weight fast so to be on the safe side thats what their going to do, i was just admited on the 1st with contactions and no dilation for hours, they even had me walk around the hospital for 3 hours and nothing, my uterus was going crazy with contractions so they put me on morphine sulfate cause they say i needed to rest and if i refused they'll send me home, i was furious, i couldnt believe it, they admited me for observation and discharged me the next mourning, i had tryed it all walking, stimulation the only thing i have left is to try my ginger tea now that im closer to my due date so wish me luck and congrats jen i know u were waiting for this day...

both my children ended up being induced despite me trying everything ! I walked , ate curries, drank raspberry leaf tea , had s_x etc Am now two weeks off my due date and trying everything again - think they come when they are ready (or not). Both kids needed everything to get them going - this was 13 days after my due date

lauren - September 10

i would like to know how i can start my labour off myself as im 2weeks over due.

Jen - September 13

I am 24 weeks along with number four. My first baby I walked lots and he was 8 days late, my second one I took it MUCH easier and eat and slept and laid aroud more instead of walking around and he was a day early. My third I had s_x and a warm shower got it going the day after due date. I also always got my doctor to strip my membranes when things were looking almost ready. That always seemed to help. My best advice is to rest your uterus, but drinking that rasberry tea helps strengthen your uterus. (just the last few weeks) My labors were about 4 hours once they did start! Enjoy the anticipation and prepare yourself, deal with any remaining issues, fears. Sometimes it seemed like I needed to submit my body and just relax and give the baby permission to come when was best for them!
