All I know is that I've even done it on my two boys and it's said what they'll have...and it's not 50/50. I choose to go with the majority of people in saying that for some reason this does say what kids are.
If it had something to do with the mind then my two sons would have come up as girls because I was hoping for a girl both times. :)

Have a total stranger do it on you, and then let me know if it comes out right. Someone that doesn't know that you already have two boys. I would pretty much guarantee that the only reason this works is because people are doing it on people that they already know and on themselves and your mind will get you to do exactly what you want to hear and see. This is just an Old Wives' Tale. But to each his own. It's all for fun anyway. I hope know one takes this seriously.

does anyone know if you hold a plain wedding band and a lock of hair or thread, and let it go does it tell you what children you will. I have tried it on myself and a few others i have two boys and they came up with going up and down meaning two boys then it went round in circles do you think that we might have a girl next, after that it just stopped.

mine lied. I did the needle test over the wrist and it said that i was having a girl and it also said that my BF was having a girl. my baby boy is now 4 months old.

I did the pendulum test over my belly and it went from head to toe - boy. But my 20 weeks ultrasound said girl, although tech wasn't 100% sure. I am having another u/s at 30 weeks so we will see. I hope I am having aboy though because we already have a girl.

I am confused, does circle mean boy, side to side mean girl.....or circle means nothing???? who knows FOR SURE?

I believe it is very accurate.

I have been using the the pencil test for ten years and it has been 99.9% accurate. I have been using it with a piece of sowing thread with a needle on it. Stick it in the middle of an eraser on a sharpened pencil. I agree with everything that CATHY said!!!! It is all true, and it does give them in order by s_x. It never lets me down.

THE TEST GIVES THE RESULTS : WHEN IT GOES IN CIRCLES IT IS A BOY AND WHEN IT GOES SIDE TO SIDE IT IS A BOY. WHEN IT STOPS AND JUST PINS IT IS DONE.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T BELIEVE, JUST TRY IT AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF. MAKE SURE THAT YOU THREAD A NEEDLE. STICK THE NEEDLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PENCIL, SHARPENED. HANG IT FROM THE WRIST AND WAIT TO SEE. SIDE TO SIDE GIRL, CIRCLES BOY. IT WILL STOP BETWEEN EACH CHILD, IT WILL ALSO STOP WHEN DONE. IT DOES NOT HURT TO TRY.

I did the pencil test on my friends daughter and she is sixteen. The pencil circled in a small circle, then it spun faster and went in to a larger circle, then it! spun really fast! and went into a third larger than the second circle. Then stopped. I am wondering if this means that she is having three twins. (we found out that she is in the generation of twins.) so this will be interesting to know when she gets (much) older!

Maria, I always heard circle does not mean anything, it's the direction of the pendulum that tekll baby's s_x.

I read about this when I was pregnant last year and have tried it with the pencil and with my wedding ring with identical results! Three of us at work were pregnant at the same time, and it was correct for all of us. My Mum works at a playgroup and tried it on all the Mums one day . . . it was correct every time!

Debbie, which method did you use, meaning what movement meant what? I'm only asking because there's so many versions of it. Thanks.
