im 38 wks + and at my doctors visit she did a pekvic exam. this one hurt alot more than usual and she kept moving her fingers around in there. i'm now having irregular cramps which has never happened.
could she have stripped my membranes without my knowledge?

Did she press on your lower abdomen while doing it? That is what my Dr did and I had it done twice. Surely she would have said SOMETHING. Even if she didn't tell you in detail what was going on, she should have said, "this will help you out" or something on those lines. If you cramp a lot and have bloody discharge, then yes that is what she did. I am not talking about a spot here and there, I am talking about bloody toilet paper when you wipe. (sorry if TMI) but I am trying to be a blunt and helpful as possible. Both time I got it done, I bled for a full 24 hrs afterwards. I wasn't quite like menstral bleeding, but it was more than spotting and there were strings and chunks in the blood. (sorry again!!) But... at least you know what to look for. If all else fails, call the office and ask!
