im 38 weeks pregnant with my first and have been leaking water bit by bit for the last two days this started just after i got a show but my midwife told me yesturday that she didnt thing it was my waters.can it take a few days for your waters to break completely?

Yes. My water trickled for about 12 hours. I think it would have gone right on trickling, but then I was induced and it broke with force!!

i think you should see your doctor. its very dangerous to leave your water broken for long period of time, it can cause infection and something can happen to baby. did you have a bloody show? if you did then it would be labor nearing. i would be very concern if i was your midwife. why dont you get an 2nd opinon? like from your doctor. hope everything goes well for you.

I agree with the above post. I was leaking fluids and was told that they don't like that to go on for longer than 24 hrs due to infection. There is a swab your midwife can give you to determine if it is indeed your waters...if she won't/can't do it find another doctor to do so.
