Just wanted to see if this seems more like fact or myth. If you have already had a baby, I would love to hear your experiences.

I've never had heartburn and I can see she has a full head of hair through her ultrasound pictures.

I had mild heartburn with my daughter, she had a full head of hair, but it wasn't thick at all.

I had heartburn and my baby had a good amount of hair but i don't believe in this myth. A lot of women get it but have bald babies.

Had horrible heartburn during the whole time of all 3 of my pregnancies and all 3 boys had a full thick head of hair so it was true for me.

I had NO heartburn at all and my little man came out needing a hair cut! (of course we didn't give it to him!)

I certainly hope not as I'm 35 weeks and have not had any. I don't want my little man to be bald and joining the Bosely hair clinic this early.

hi all, a woman at work told me this and then there was an article a few weeks later in the New York Times about it in February, and they said researchers had basically concluded that the myth is true... if you got to the NY Times website and search pregnancy and heartburn the article comes up with the headline "Really?" I tried to post the url here but they wouldn't let it go through... so personally, my heartburn has been so crazy, i'm pretty sure i'm having a gorrilla. in a mink coat! goodness, lordy!

I had my baby March 29th. I had awful heartburn and she has hair on the sides of her head but is pretty bald on top. I wouldn't say she has a lot of hair at all. Of course I have acid reflux disease anyway so maybe my experience doesn't count.

as far as im concerned its 100% true!! i didnt have hair till i was 2 yrs old, and my lo's dad didnt have hardly any hair as a baby and is bald now. (the men in both sides of the family are bald as well). well my little boy came out with a ton of hair!! the way it works is the thing to treat heartburn/acid is basically calcium!! (tums, milk etc) and calcium is in charge of hair and nail growth!! im allergic to milk so while i was prego i took calcium suppliments to replace what i couldnt give baby. and tums were also my best friend thru the whole 9 months, so full head of beautiful hair for my baby! (ok and some on his back, shoulders and ears too but not a lot!) im my oppinion go ahead at treat your heartburn with good ol tums! :o)

I think that has more to do with how your baby is positioned. Heartburn is from stomach acid not hair lol so when your stomach is being pushed and squished up inside it causes heartburn.
I don't even know how hair would make a difference in this considering baby is normally head down when heartburn is the worst, also, heartburn starts early 2nd trimester - baby doesnt even have hair then

It's kind of a 50/50 chance whether you will have heartburn or not, also a 50/50 chance whether your baby will have lots of hair or not so the myth will be "true" 50% of the time. I believe this is the same case with all those s_x predictions ladies do when they are pregnant, you only have 2 possible outcomes lol, of course a necklace moving side to side will give you a boy (I think that means a boy) 50% of the time.
