I got my membranes sc__pped yesterday, my midwife got me to 2cm still 60% and I've been taking evening primrose oil 3 times daily since yesterday. Tomorrow is my evaluation at the hospital, but I highly doubt they'll keep me. I haven't been having any contraction. For those who have been induced, what progress had you already made before the fact?

When I was pg with DS... I had made NO progress on my own at all. I was induced at 39 weeks because of a suspected amniotic leak. I was not at all dialated, or effaced... and had no contractions at all... even 48 hours after the suspected leak began. I'll probably be induced next Tuesday with this baby. I'm 1cm and cervix is soft so maybe it will be a better experience. :)

Hi - I was induced 8 weeks ago - this was my secon baby. My first came naturally and the birth was awful- I was really traumatised afterwards. This time I has a membrane sc___pe which failed. Then I was admitted to be started off. Gel also failed (althought I was told that by then I was 1cm dilated). Eventually, the final solutions was to break my waters. Not a nice feeling, and quite uncomfortable, but not unbearable. I have to say that once this happened I was given an epidural, and everything went so smoothly, it was unbelieveable! I had a brilliant birth, and felt comfortable all the way though. My advice ask for an epidural straight away!! Fabulous!!

Foxxy- was induced at 42 weeks with my 1st (a girl). I was already 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced & having natural contractions on my own ( I didn't even feel the natural contraction- I on;y foudn out b/c they hooked me up to some monitor that measured contractions)before they started the induction. Good luck if you're going to be induced -chemically induced labor its twice as painful as natural child birth & you will probably need some type of drug/pain relief. I went 8 hours natrually before they incuded with pitocin, then I labored another 28 hours with no pain medication until the last 2 hours, I got an epidural b/c I hadn't slept for 2 days & was exhausted, then the baby was born so I didn't even really get much time on the epi.
