hey Ladies - I was just wondering if anyone is or has gone through what I am experiencing... I am 34 weeks and 3 days. On monday I went to Labor and delivery to be checked out because I was having some major pelvis pressure - As it turns out the babies head is fully engaged (the doctor could feel it) and she said that my cervix was short - I have been haveing lots of braxton hicks since Saturday... And to top it off I think that I am loosing my plug - from what I have read it being descibed as I am loosing mine in chunks (but no bleeding) I also have really thick discharge (TMI - Sorry!) I'm thinking that is part of the whole plug thing too??? Anyways The pelvis pressure is so bad that I can only stand minutes at a time - and forget about walking around! The only time its ok is laying on my left side - sitting up is better than standing but that hurts too........ Anyways I really dont want to have her untill 36 -37 weeks and I relize It could go on like this for a while........ My doctor said I shouldn't worry if I go into labor - they won't try to stop it - she is really healthy and if anything she would just be a bit small and have to spend a couple days in the nursery - I have very mixed feeling about having a preemie - I think I would make myself sick with stress if she wasnt perfect and of course I dont want her to have to struggle but my doctor is giving me the impression that I should be expecting to have this baby anytime. What do you guys think?? Should I be ready to go - or do you think she's gona hold on a bit??? Sorry I am a first time mom and just dont know what to think???

Often babies born at 35 weeks do not even have to spend any time in a neonatal nursery, just a few days in hospital rooming in with mom to make sure they feed well.
I know you don't want to have baby born too early but generally speaking, 35 weekers do just fine, although maybe smaller than a full term baby.
Be ready to go, and try not to stress too much about it. That said, if you can wait another week or two, even better. :-)

Hello ladies, Well I am still pregnant now 35 weeks +2 - I have been having contractions since Friday and the nurses at the labor and delivery unit have informed me that I could go on like this for a weeks or so!! I am so uncomfortable and weak from being in "pre-labor" for 3 days I don't actually know how I am going to do the real thing......... I have a doctors appointment in an hour and I am really hoping she is going to tell me that I am dialating and its time to do this for real....... But we will see - Oh ya Wednesday I definatly lost my plug and ya it's pritty gross..... ah the joys of motherhood -lol - But for what I'm going through I feel like I am in pritty good spirits!! I just hope that my next post will be my birth storie!! Thank you everyone for caring about me so much!!! XXXXXXX

Hi, I just posted my birth story, you may have read it. My baby was born at 35 weeks and was born with Respitory Distress Syndrome and spent 7 days in the NICU. To top it off, I had been taking steroids since 28 weeks of pregnancy and the lungs still had not matured. I had a healthy preg. and took care of myself and I still got dealt a difficult hand. Generally, babies born at 35 weeks do really well. Some need time in the NICU, and others go home. I wish you and your baby the best of luck! Just try to take it easy for a few days and hold on to 36 weeks!!!
