I am debating on br___t feeding but I have heard that if you are br___t feeding you cannot take pain med's. Is that true b/c I know if thats the case I prob. will not be able to take the pain & br___t feed too?

I don't think that's true. But, I could be wrong. Your doctor or the La Leche League could probably tell you.

Do you mean during labor or after? During, youcantake pain med, it can just make baby groggy once she's born. Afterward, you can have pain meds, but your dr shoul know you are bf before she prescribes. i took motrin afterward and was fine.

I mean after I have my baby. My friend who just had a baby said that she had an episiotomy and her doc gave her some pretty strong med's but she was feeding her baby formula instead of b___st feeding. She said that if I were to b___st feed my baby and I wanted pain med's that I wouldn't be able to take them. I didn't think that was true b/c I know someone who had a c-section & they gave her plenty of pain medications & she was b___st feeding. I just have heard 2 totally different stories & was wondering if anyone knew for sure?

It's not true because I b___stfed my dd as soon as she came out and I had some pretty strong pain meds after. I'm not really sure it's a good idea though. I think you'll be ok, the nurses/doctors know you're nursing so they won't give you anything that could cause harm to your LO.

With my second baby, they rx me davaset, which is okay to use with b___stfeeding moms. With my first I didn't take anything... which was stupid on my part. When you are more comfortable, you are better able to care for your baby. Talk with your OB for your post-pregnancy a___lgesic options. And try to b___st feed, even if it's just for a week.
