so as you know i took 2oz of castor oil last night. I only pooped twice but had serious contractions. I went into the doctors office today to get checked before i went to the hospital and i was still 4cm and 75% but he dropped down to -1. she said that i need to get him to 0 or dialate to 5cm before she will help me with this labor until then she is doin ABSOLUTELY nothing to help me with this labor. My aunt is a registered nurse and tells me that I should change doctors and go to another hospital because that is absolutely ridiculous especially since she sent me home from the hospital still having contractions..still in labor. ive been in labor since friday and im MISERABLE and my doctor will do nothing to help me. Im 37 weeks today and she said that i could have him anytime after 37weeks..WHY WONT SHE HELP ME im in serious agony and ive tried everything. please help me make a decision

caydennsmommy, I know this is going to be so hard to hear. But, the definition of "true labor" is contractions that occur regularly, increase in duration, frequency and intensity AND involve cervical change. I know your baby dropped and that is part of what the BH's are doing. It is so hard the last few weeks. Since you are 37 weeks it is quite possible you are in pre-labor, not true labor. The next phase is latent labor which can take days or hours. I am sorry, I know it is depressing. If you are in true labor things will start to change (unless you have scarring on your cervix (rigid cervix) or other issues that prevent dilation. I am thinking good thoughts for you as my niece is now 8 days over due and really feeling depressed! Good luck and hang in there!

I know that is a pain especially when your doctor isn't any help. But if you are 4 cm it shouldn't be too much longer. You are almost halfway, and so close! I would just wait it out a little longer. If you only have 1 cm to go.

IMO, you should go see someone else too. There is a LOT they can do to help, so if she won't, find someone who will! It's your body and the decision should be yours!!!

I feel your pain. I was 42 weeks and 2 days be4 I had my lilttle girl. I went into my Dr. appt and cried. I wanted her out and I wasn't leaving that office until we set a date to be induced plus spring break was coming up and I needed to have her be4 then because of my other two kids. Remember your the one thats pregnant not your Dr. Good Luck
