Hello everyone! Im about to be 38 weeks in 2 days. My body is so uncomfortable and I can't sleep at night. So I just drank 2 oz. of Castor Oil to help w/constipation, and to get this labor thing goin hopefully. It's not nasty tasting at all. It's just like you're drinking a tube of Lip Gloss lol. I mixed mine with Dr. Pepper. I'm kinda scared to drink the whole 4 oz. because i'm only 5'2 and I don't know how much of that stuff my lil body can handle, so im stickin w/just half for now. My Dr. said my cervix is really thin last week. I've tried having s_x for the past 3-4 nights but nothings helped. Speaking of s_x, i've been wanting s_x so bad lol. It's weird cause I didnt even want to have s_x in the beginning, but now that i'm about to have the baby I want it all the time. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the 2 oz. does the work for me!!

I am 22 weeks pregnant with my second child, With my first I tried only one thing and within half an hour i had my first real contraction 12 hours later my daughter was born into this world, two days before my due date. What I did was cuddle a hot water bottle to my b___bs I wrapped it in a tea towel so it wasnt too hot and bang half an hour later my first contraction and twelve minutes later another one, the dr says that the heat releases the hormone oxytocin that is also released with nipple stimulation, I went to bed with a hot water bottle instead of my hubby ha ha and it worked for me with no danger to me or baby Hailey

Can I take castor Oil or mineral oil while I am pregant just to cleanse my sytem. I am 3 months pregnant and a type 2 diabetic on insulin since I am pregnant?

shannon - June 1

Sherri, I would strongly advise you not to drink Castor Oil just to cleanse your system, especially when you are only 3months pregnant. You could cause your body to start contracting and could possible miscarry. I would advise (as I am sure your doctor would as well) that you take Colace (a stool softner--non laxative--that can be bought over the counter) to aid with constipation and regular BM's (due to prenatal vitamins & pregnancy causing some women to be constipated).

Just to update the note from yesterday, I woke up this morning at 7:50am had realllllly bad contractions. Had a Dr.s apt at 10:45am to find out im 1 centimeter dialated and 50% faced (efaced?). The contractions faded away around 12:30 pm. I took a nap and the contractions woke me up again around 7:00pm. I went to go eat, and walked around Wal Mart for a few minutes, got home...Went to the bathroom and my mucus plug literally just fell out. There was no blood which I thought was weird, but the hospital told me to labor as much as possible at home then to come in! Yea!! I didn't even drink that much castor oil and it worked like a charm (w/no bad taste). I've been sure to drink cups and cups of water to make sure i dont get dehydrated. YEAH!!

which one works the best the rasberry tea or the capsules? I have drank the tea and nothing has happeded..

Laura - June 2

I have tried the red raspberry leaf capsules, black cohosh capsules, nipple stimulation, s_x, walking and still I sit here pregnant! I refuse to try castor oil (bad experience when I was pregnant with my 13 year old), but have heard it works for some women. I am 40 +2 weeks so I can understand wanting the baby here NOW! My wait will finally be over soon, I am being induced on the 6th. Good Luck to all you ladies.

I was one and half weeks to my due date, and oh so ready to just get it over with. Plus, my doctor said that the baby was getting so big they just wanted to schedule me for a c-section. I tried everything in order to avoid the c-section... Spicy food, castor oil, foot ma__sages, etc. Nothing worked. I found out about castor oil from a website and all excited decided to try it. But the castor oil did not work for me either. It did give me some contractions, but nothing ever happend. It did on the other hand work for a close friend of mine - it sent her in labor and to the hospital within a few hours, and she swears by it. Depends on your body I guess. If you are ready.. try it, maybe it will work for you. Me on the other hand, fortunately my doctor accidentally broke my bag of waters while examining me in his office, which he said had never happend to him before (it was weak and ready to rupture cause it had been leaking for a couple days). Sending me off into labor. 27 hours later, I had my 9 lb. 3 oz. healthy baby boy. If anyone is interested I heard that acupuncture really works for some people. That might be worth trying if you are not afraid of needles.

I have heard that spicey food can naturally bring on contractions but only if your baby is ready to be born. It worked for a friend of mine but not for me. I guess my son is not ready to introduce himself yet!!!!

I did a half a bottle of castor oil mixed with oj on my due date because i didn't want to be pregnant a day longer. i took it at 10am. for several hours nothing happened, then my oldest son's friend burned down the neighbor's garage, which was quite stressful, then an hour later i got the diarrhea from the castor oil which only lasted 15 minutes or so, then about an hour later, my contractions started, and 6 hours later I had my son. i don't know if it was my son and his friend burning down the garage, the fact that it was my due date, or the castor oil that did it, but something worked and i plan on taking the castor oil again with my present pregnancy, which i am due on June 15th, so I will take it on June 15th.

I don't know if anything actually works. I was due June 1st, and I am still pregnant, with my second child. I have tried: s_x, castor oil, walking, nipple stimulation, black cohosh, evening primose oil, raspberry tea, etc. Obviously nothing has worked since I am still pregnant. Luckily though, my doc is cool and she is going to induce my on Monday night! YEAH!! She doesn't want me to continue the pregnancy since my baby (by ultrasound) is a little over 9 lbs. and my son was 8lbs 5oz when he was born. She (and I) would rather deliver v____ally than by c-section. I would say this though, if you do take castor oil, BEWARE!!! I was sitting on the toilet what seemed to be forever- I think I woke up about 6 times in the middle of the night as well. It did start contractions for me, so I thought, it was just really bad cramps from my body telling me to get to the bathroom now!!!! LOL Good luck! Hope something works for you, it didn't for me :(

I want to try the Raspberry Leaf Tea, but should i take the pills or the tea because i dont think i can drink so much tea in one day. Also I wanted to know how i could get my doctor to induce me because my husband is out on business trips to the Middle East. I am due June 25th and would really like him to be here for the delivery.
