We just did the pencil test on my sister, who is 18, engaged, but not pregnant. First it said GBGBGB. Then it said BGGGBG. Either way it said 6 kids. A couple of weeks ago, i was at my aunt's house, and i have a cousin who is pregnant. She has already had one boy, and two other miscarriages. The pencil test said BGGG. Which is exciting cuz i really want her to have a girl. Also, 4 of my aunts were there, and we did it on all of them plus my mom, and they were exactly right. One of them has never had kids and it just stood still. Then we did it on me. It said GGGGG!! Just now we did it, and it said the same thing except 6 girls instead of 5. I dont know who got the crazy idea that its hair and a ring, but we use a pencil with a needle and a peice of thread. It has been exactly right every time that way. I know for some people it's probably hard to believe, and i think it's crazy how it works too, but truthfully it's just for fun and it adds to the baby excitment! Maybe in about 20 years ill let you know if it was right on me!

Okay people yall are bugging me get it right! it goes in a circle if its a girl. It jerks and stops for a second when it is switching between kids. It goes back and forth (it doesnt matter what direction) if it is a boy. We have gone by this on my whole family and it is always right. :)

To reply to Rayzin's post on October 23, yes it has happened before. A long time ago, my aunt Kristi had it done on her, and it said she was having kids. If you read up 2 posts, I talked about a couple weeks ago when i was at my aunt's and we did it on my cousin who is pregnant. We also did it on everybody else. When we did it on Kristi, it just stood still. However, I still believe in it. I dont know how it changes over the years, but she has never been married and has no kids.

I did mine with a solid gold necklace, but so far (as long as my ultrasound was correct) it has been accurate. It said I would have boy girl boy girl, and I have a 2 year old son, and am elegedly pregnant with a girl now.

I did it and it was done to me. It said 3 boys. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy 2 weeks ago. Maybe it's chance but I have seen it be correct for everyone who's done it.

I've heard of so many different ways to read the pencil test. So I came to this website and read all of the responces found out the real directions(in line with your heart, vertical is a boy and across is a girl and the somtimes hard to read circle is the space/time period between children) and tried it on myself. It was acurate 100% . I was told a long time ago by a woman, a family friend that God had given me the WILL to have 6 children. Ya right like I'm going to have 6 children over my deid worn out, over worked, stressed overies, body and brain. But here I am with 3 beautiful children and as I hang the pencil over my stomach soon to be boy final, final, final no more I'm getting fixed once that vacancy sign apears. It works! This test will read a pregnancy befor the pee test will, hang the pencil over your stomach within one week or so of conception and it will swing in vertical or across motion to indicate s_x of the very tiny babe, if it circles it is telling you there is vacancy.

Haha. I dont believe in this. I did this before it incidates that I will have 3 girls. My first's girl, 2nd- miscarriage, and im pregnant with 2nd, and its a girl. BUT we will have 3rd later.. thats for SURE!! that means i shld have 4 children, not 3! =)

Hi there, i would say that the needle n cotton test is quite accurate. I tried it when i was jurt 12 wk pregnant and it told me im having a girl. Im now 34 wk pregnant and it still shows to be going round for a girl. I was fortunate enough to have a 4d scan which proved my baby is a girl!

I have done the pencil test to several people and it has always been accurate. Threaded needle in center of sharpened pencil over wrist. I have three boys' and am pregnant. For me it shows the boys' by going across my wrist slows and then left to right again. It does this three times, then slows and goes from finger tips to elbow, then stops. Everyone I have done it to that has had a miscarriage it does show it. So far for me boys are across the wrist left to right and girls are finger tip to elbow. Maybe those test that didn't seem to be right weren't being read correctly! It is all about the wonderous joy of being a mother. Have fun!
