YEE HAW! Progress is made. I went to the dr today and am 3 cm dilated, 50% effaced, bloody show after exam (which seemed to excite the dr the most) and the baby has dropped significantly. So, hopefully, it will be soon!

hey im right were you are except i havent lost my pug. its hot and gross and i feel fat and awful.. i wake up in the morining feeling like i did a thousand crunches in my sleep. im so sore all over 2cm dialated and the baby is right there waiting.. but nothin. its been like this for just about two weeks. good luck lets see who gets there first LOL

Hey Alicia. Did a few laps at the mall last night, but no change. I did have some stronger cramps during the night and thought it might be time, but then was able to get back to sleep. So, I'm back to the mall to walk again today (can't walk outside as it is heat index 110+!).

Last checkup I was only 25% effaced...and I haven't felt anything since then. I get checked again in a week (by then I'll be 2 days over). I REALLY do NOT want to get induced, so I better step up my 'natural induction' methods. I've only been doing some walking and s_x...gotta get some red raspberry leaf tea and walk more. No castor oil for me!!

Still waiting today. But, i found out that if I give birth on a day not chosen in the office pool, I win the $! And, no one has picked today, so I'm hoping to get r' done today! Physically, no changes. I had some pretty significant contractions last night, but only three over th course of the night! It was just enough to remind me how much labor really hurts, so now I figure I can wait a few days : ) My dr asked if I want to be induced if I go until my due date, but I told her no. I'm really scared of that! So, if I make it to my 40 wk appt, I will have to have an ultrasound and non-stress test to check on amnio level and baby before I can continue on to week 41...ugh!

I am 39 weeks and 6 days, my last doctor visit I was 3 cm and 70% effaced. I have been having contractions but they are not worth talking about. I have lose my muscus plug, so I ask myself what is the hold up? I walk and walk, I have s_x, what else am I suppose to do. Well tomorrow I will see my dr. again and I will ask to get my membranes stripped something must work. I want my baby in my arms, school soon starts for me....send me some good vibes.

I thought i might be heading in this morning. i had severe cramps all night and back ache that i couldnt believe. but nope its all gone now... i can feel the baby moving against my pelvic bone and it is so wierd... I also walked the mall yesterday NOTHING i tried raspberry leaf tea yesterday that could be why i had the cramps who knows. they say the baby is already over 7 they said last week. i dont want another 9 pounder so i can deal with it out as soon as possible. good luck ladies..Maybe i might try the s_x thing or go for a bumpy car ride.. s_x just does not sound like fun right now LOL.Im huge

Boy, everyone seems to be having problems around the same due date. I was 40 weeks yesterday and was in full on labor 3 days ago with contractions 2 minutes apart. I went to the hospital and I was barely dilated to 2 and still thick (which was the same as my last dr appt). They gave me some medicine for the pain and the contractions spaced to 10 minutes apart. Since I was in no pain, I decided to go home, fully thinking I would be back the next day. But since then my contractions are sporadic and then putter out all together. It's so completely frustrating. At this point, I have nothing left to do but go back to work tomorrow and wait until my next dr appt on Wednesday. It's just too hot to be this pregnant!

Yeah, we went on a tour of all the brick roads in town yesterday to no avail. The thought of s_x is just sick! I'm actually due on July 29. You guys?

Due on the 23rd and this baby will be my first. I agree with you about the s_x part. With this huge watermelon in my belly, I have never felt more un-s_xy in my life. Plus I have so much v____al pressure, I can't imagine how painful s_x would be right now. I am soooo ready to have this baby... if only my body would cooperate and start dilating!

Well they changed my due date from the 5th to the 3rd at my last appt. woopie. We tried the s_x thing last night i think it lasted a whole 2min too much pressure. it wasnt really painful lbut it felt really wierd i had to stop. bumpy roads also. cleanin all day tryin to keep movin. A friend of mine is a reflexologist and he said to rub down the inside almost underneath part of the foot. i dont know if it worked but it gave me a wierd pressure feeling right above the pelvic bone last night and it was there all night and a bit today. he said it wouldnt start labour but prepares the uterous. dr. appt tomorrow we will see what he says. i bet hes gonna tell me its gained another lbs. wich would make it around 8. my first was 9lbs. 4 days late and my second was just under 8 13 days early so i tend to have large babys so full term doesnt sound fun. ITS COOL OUTSIDE TODAY I AM SOOOO HAPPY. good luck ladies... hope we all get them out.

Well, I've decided to let my body just run it's course. We had s_x last night, which kicked me into contractions. After about 3 hours, I called the OB floor and they patched me through to my dr. At that point contractions were about 3 mins apart, 30 secs each, but not extremely painful. She wanted me to come in, but I was still hesitant, because it didn't "feel " like labor. Then, I went to the BR and had clear liquid, so thought my water broke and we headed to the hospital. Long story short...kicked the whole plan into action and ended up getting sent home at 3am, after ~4hours on Labor and Delivery. For most of the time, the contractions were 2 mins apart, 30-50 secs each, but after two hours of checking, I hadn't made any progress. So, I came home to sleep it off. The contractions have lessened to light cramps now and I have actually had some sleep. The good news is that now, I am dialated to 4-5cm, so my body is making slow progress. They said to come back, basically when I "know" I am in labor... So, hopefully, over the next day or two, I'll continue to dllate and will be pretty far along when I go in for real. They are concerned, however, that I get there in time, because they think I'm going to go really quick, based on my last labor and current dilation. So, I guess I have to figure out when is too early and when is too late, now!

Im hopin for you Katharine... im right there with ya. I had my Dr. appt yesterday and he said the baby is righ there the cervix is soft and ripe and its just about to hit 8lbs( AKKK) he doesnt think i ll make it past the weekend at the appt i was dialated 2cm and he went in and stimulated the cervix or something like that. it hurt really bad he said if i walked home from my dr. appt imight just go into labour. I did and I did but the contractions only got to be about 10 min apart... very hard contractions but at 1 this moring they disapeared and i have had random contractions since anywhere from 25 min to 2 hrs so nothing to be excited about. He also doesnt want me to wait to long bc my cervix is so soft that it should be quicker then the rest and the first i was up at the hospital for 5 hrs of labour and the second i was there for 3 hours(6hours total labour) spent the first three at home. maybe our babys will come at the same time. Do you know what yours is going to be? i didnt find out this time. i have a boy and a girl we let this one be a surprise. I want to see it. i had a dream it was a girl but last week i had a dream it was a boy. There are similarities with this pregnancy from both my other ones so im confused. well good luck and i hope everythings goes as great as labour does.

Hey Alicia. We are having a second daughter. We didn't find out last time, but this time, I wanted to know and buy girl or boy clothes! We are really excited. I came in to work today and everyone is freaking out, since the message never got out that my "water break" was a false alarm! They all thought I was in the hospital in labor! My female co-workers are a little shocked that I'm sitting here dilated to 5 cm! They are expecting a baby to fall out at any moment (I wish!).

I am happy to say that my little one finally made her appearance in the world on the 26th at 1:12am. After having contractions all night Sunday with a lot of bloody show, my doctor sent me to the hospital Monday morning only to discover that I still hadn't dilated any farther. I was all ready for the disappointment of getting sent home again when my doctor, bless her heart, offered to break my bag of water. That still didn't get me dilating so I was started on the pitocin. Two hours later I dilated an extra cm (now at 3) and gladly took my epidermal since the pitocin greatly increased the contractions and amount of pain. 3 hours later, and after a nice nap, I was at 7cm and within 15 minutes of that exam, I really felt the need to push. The nurse said there was no way I could have dilated 3 cm in 15 minutes, but sure enough, I had. An hour of pushing later and my little girl was born happy and healty- thankfully (there was merconium when they broke my water and we both had a fever during the latter part of the labor, so neo-natal was there during the delivery). She didn't even cry for the first few hours after she was born! She just kind of looked around and took everything in.<br> So hang in there Moms- I hope yours come soon too!

Congrats Carrie.. Thats wonderful that someone is done.. LOL a happy healthy baby is great news. I dialated like that with my first they told me there is no way you went for 6-10 in a half and hour and i was like well i have to push so check it out. and i did. Well anywyas same old same old here. a couple contractions now and again, the worst pressure feeling in the world. I went for long walk last night decided to try the swinging on the swing thing... that just hurt in the end, and still no baby. So i wish you all luck and ill be hopin for a baby tonight.
