OKAY REALLY NO JOKE....GO BUY A BREAST PUMP AND START PUMPING FOR 15 MINUTES, EVERY THREE HOURS. (YOU NEED AT LEAST 2 HOURS OF STIMULATION IN 24 HOURS). THIS WILL GET THE OCTOCIN FOLLOWING!

I have tried stimulating for hours on end with a manual b___st pump all I ended up doing was having a few braxton hicks (big whoop) that did nothing for me and waste precious colostrum.

Ok yesterday was crazy. I'm either getting ready to go soon or I'm completly loosing my mind. Mood swings are one thing but yesterday I threw a 2 year fit in zellers over something completly stupid because i knew I was right and my husband kept disagreeing with me it ended in me throwing all the things I intended to purchase at him one by one followed by me storming out of the store and crying like I just fell off my bike for the first time and skinned my knee! I Have never acted so nuts in my life I can never shop at that store again then when I got home it was followed by this huge fear of having the baby thinking about how Im not going to be any good at it and almost taking a break down saying "I DONT WANNA HAVE A BABY ANYMORE!" Later that day I spent an hour in the bathroom on the toliet with a bucket in front of me with both ends of me exploding.... then all of a sudden I was all happy and everyone's best friend I didnt have contractions but the baby was doing the tango or somthing for at least 3 hours and I felt alot of tingling "down there" then I started having hot flashes which I've never had before out of no where and I was sweating like crazy and then went for a walk for a half hour got in a cool tub and finally went to bed with my window wide open and a fan on high all night.. it was deffinally a rollercoaster and would not look forward to it happening again but still no contractions however I do have a doctors appointment today and I'm going to see if he'll check down there to at least let me know what's going on if anything ... I'll keep you posted

i was just wondering how if anyone has gotten their membranes swept, im about 39 weeks along and my doc suggested sweeping my membranes and im just curious how much longer after that labor happened?

So I went to the doctors today and i had a bit of a break down and then he decided to check me and said my cervix was still a little prosteror (probably spelt wrong) so he grabbed it and pulled it forward (not pleasent) then he did a membrane sweep to see if it will help move anything along. I doubt it's going to work by saturday but I got my fingers crossed. When i got home me and hubby had s_x for and it was actually good for the first time in a long time however it didnt start contractions but it was a good change, and that's all so far ....

I understand how you all feel, i am 40 weeks and misreable, I tried the nipple stimulation last night with an electric b___st pump and all i ended up with was a few small contractions and sore nipples, i have been considering the castrol oil thing, but i am a little nervous of the side effects. My dr. checked me yesterday and sd I was a "fingertip" whatever that means? Anyone know? I am so past ready and would really appriciate any advice. I read that one woman had her husband check her, where is the cervix located? Thanks!!

rebecaa, I am 38 weeks and also went through the same insanity you did.Crying and fighting with my husband blaming him for whats on t v and hating bieng pregnant this was until 5 am in the morning then I realized that my baby was not moving and when she finally did I calmed down and went to sleep...oh and my husband tells me "I know how you feel"...I am eating awhole pine apple now...

I had my membranes stripped also and now I am 2.5 centimeters dilated...Has anyone had luck with that?

I think it's way in the back like way back there my husband has rather long fingers and he could bearly get at it lol but as you move along it gets smaller so I guess that's a good thing. See it's usually long and pointed towards your b___t but then as you get ready to have a baby it moves forward and starts to shorten before it can completely open so if it's still pointed towards your b___t or if it's still long then you still have a while to go. Mine was a fingertip open and was starting to move forward but wasnt fully forward yet so my doctor grabbed it and yanked it forward then did a sweep it was uncomfortable when he did it not much fun but it hurt a whole lot more when he was done and i tried to walk lol it went away after a bit and I still havent had any contractions so I dont know if it helped at all for some people it does and labour starts within days of that happening others it could still take weeks I'm beginning to fully belive that no matter what we do it's up to the baby. The only good news i did get was that the baby was down and in position and that my cervix was very soft and favorable for when something does start but i think the when it starts is all up to my little one now

Okay, I'm due TODAY! I still haven't dilated a bit. I thought second labors were supposed to be easier and quicker. My first labor was induced and only 5 1/2 hours. Being induced before you've begun to dilate on your own increases your chances of a c-section. I don't want that. However, if I go into labor on my own and I haven't dilated at all, that can't be fun and that would have to be a long labor. I've got what I wanted. I was able to get my little girl started in school. Now the baby can come out.

Best Wishes and good luck to all the ladies lookin forward to meeting their little ones, I had a handsome baby boy early Saturday morning after two failed inductions and was gettin sent home the doc checked me once more she had real small hands i didnt even feel her check my cervix they were sending me home and i was 4 cm & stretchy but after she check me her rubber gloves were filled with blood and sounds really gross but your really happy as a pregnant woman because its a sure sign,,, they decided to watch me for another hour, I wasnt on pitocin or anything my contractions started comin every two minutes and they were so strong it felt like someone stabing me the bleeding never stop because there are 4 ways to describe labor and that is RIPENING of the cervix which leads to DILATION for the babys body to come out which leads to EFFACEMENT meaning thining out and very short cervix and finally theres STATIONING which is the baby head is in the pelvis and ready to be born which by then your water should break ... I actually felt my baby drop into my pelvis I told the nurse when I was having a contraction that my baby dropped she went to tell the midwife but before she made it to the door my water broke and i was ready to push so i went from 4 cm which I had been for a week to 10cm and less than a hour.. I ve learned that evry labor is diffrent and things can go slow or fast but go with your motherly instant you and your baby are connected and dont be afraid to ask your doc to check you and dont be ashamed that you want this wonderful experience to come to end let doc know that because your not the only one and it's been a long summer,, so good luck and best wish ..ohh my boy wieghed 8lbs 10oz, and i wasnt even that big lookin..

linda - I know that you are wanting to know. I have known for 4 weeks and when there is little to know progress at each visit it can be very frustrating. I don't know which is worse. Good luck!!

Today I went to doctor..He said baby have dropped down..I am just two days away from due date.. and so far nothing good...Only bad bad BH along with backpain and weird pain in v____a..I told my doctor but he thinks this is just making me get ready for labor...I have started to walk alot but I feel off balance and it hurts..It seems like I get electrical buzzes in my legs and then off balance... It was just soo hard to spend this week and knowing that the baby MIGHT be late makes me upset and I feel like not talking or meeting anyone..I feel sooo depressed...Oh well! Everything is good if ends well...I hope all you guys are enjoying your pregnancy..Last couple of weeks are just soo hard...Good luck to all!

This is great...I am 36 weeks and on my 3rd child which has already descended and I want to go into labour now, my patience level is -0 with the other 2 kids and being my 3rd and last child, I thought I would have an early labour....still waiting!

Rebecca - August 31

my due date was yesterday and my husband managed not to go on the ship yet however he HAS to go on sept 6th no matter what so at first i was excited thinking well that's good now that im a day over and not even having false labor I'm not sure if that's going to be enough time either. My legs are doing the same thing and im depressed as well not so bad this week since my hubby is still home with me but my doctor says that it's perfectly normal to feel that way it's called the baby blues most women get it either at the end of pregnancy or right after they have a child in some cases it does turn into post-pardom depression which can be very bad but for most women it doesnt get that extreme however if it does that's normal too and it's not our fault and we shouldnt feel guilty about it however we should get help if we have any scary thoughts of things i dont want to mention but I'm sure we all understand. However baby blues is very common and that if you do happen to get them during the end of pregnancy you have a better chance of not getting them after birth and not having it become PPD
