Your Baby's Development: Week 26
By the time you are 26 weeks pregnant, your baby will weigh around two pounds (760 grams) and measure about 14 inches (35cm). About now, your baby will begin to experience brain wave activity; he will begin to both hear and respond to noises internally and externally.
Learning to See
For the last two months of the pregnancy, your baby's eyes have been tightly shut so that the retinas could develop. Now they are open and, this week, baby's eyes are starting to blink! Some babies are born with blue or gray-blue eyes which could change color during the first six months of life. Other babies will be born with brown or dark eyes - this is all determined by ethnicity. Eyelashes start to grow, while the hair also continues to grow on baby's head.
