Your Baby's Development Week 35
Week 35
Now that you are 35 weeks pregnant, your baby may weigh almost 5 1/2 pounds (2383 grams). Deposits of fat have plumped up your baby nicely now - especially in the legs and arms.
Baby's In Position For Labor
But there is a bit more plumping to go since this week marks baby's fastest period of weight gain. From now on during your pregnancy, your baby will gain around one half to three quarters of a pound each week. As a result , your baby will become a little cramped inside your uterus and those fetal movements can decrease in strength or become stronger.
If your baby has settled into the headfirst position, her head will be resting against your pubic bone. Baby is preparing for labor! When you visit your caregiver, she may start checking your cervix to see if there are any indications of effacement or thinning as well as dilatation or opening. These happen as a preparation for birth.
